My Intentions and Goals
My Personal Intentions
As a visual and information designer, I've rarely had more fun designing a web experience than Shift in Action. Sure, it was really hard work -- and we've created a work in progress that the entire IONS community can contribute to as they desire. But the joy of working with James O'Dea and Stephen Dinan and the rest of the IONS staff to develop this ground-breaking site has been one of the highlights of my 25-year career in communication design.
So my personal intentions are to keep the energy going, to participate, to invite my friends and colleagues to come check out Shift in Action... and then to make this kind of environment available to hundreds or even thousands of other organizations like IONS with the potential of catalyzing transformation in ourselves, our communities, our workplaces and our worlds.
My Social Intentions
I am not much of a joiner, but in this case I would like to be an active member of the Shift in Action community... I'll try to use each of the modes -- participating, making recommendations for expansion or enhancement, meeting new friends and colleagues, sharing my art and photography and musings and links. I really want to develop the Commune Room format by creating several different examples and seeing where that can go. I am also interested in calling non-profits and businesses in to examine what we are building, so that online wisdom media collaboration might be influential in changing those minds.
My Global Intentions
I see a worldwide community developing here and elsewhere with the kinds of tools my company, HoloCosmos, and my partners, Civic Actions, are bringing into the world. The World Wide Web was made for global transformation, and I am committed to creating better and more intuitive tools and more conscious relationships in my work and play.
