A Charter for Compassion: Recognising the Golden Rule Across All Religions
A new initiative to help us create a Charter for Compassion People of all nations, all faiths, all backgrounds, are invited to contribute.
By recognizing that the Golden Rule is fundamental to all world religions, the Charter for Compassion can inspire people to think differently about religion. This Charter is being created in a collaborative project by people from all over the world. It will be completed in 2009. Use this site to offer language you'd like to see included. Or inspire others by sharing your own story of compassion.
It's time to focus on solutions
"There's nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come"
I originally came across the idea of focusing on solutions from Solutions Focus Brief Therapy (SFBT) which focuses on finding solutions that already exist in the clients life and applying them to move towards what they want. For example, with an alcoholic there are some days when they drink less than others, so what happens on those days is part of the solutions.
How would you notice even a little bit that the shift had occurred?
I would like to post the question asked in John Arnold's post "If a shift happened, would we know" in a different way with the idea of getting more specific answers.
Imagine a scale from zero to 10 where 0 is "the idea of a shift being needed has not even been thought of" and 10 is "the shift has occurred and we are living in the world after a great shift". Pick a number to represent where we are now on this scale; pick a number between 0 and 10. This number is entirely subjective for each person.
Save on supplements by appreciating your food
I shared an experience recently about how feeling appreciation for my food and all the people involved who helped the meal get to my plate has not only reduced my body's need for supplements but also give me a much richer feeling of connection to the world around me.
Taking in Inspiration with EFT
Some of us on the spiritual path get caught up with clearing stuff. Clearing emotions, clearing limiting beliefs, clearing past life stuff. The focus of this can lead you to keep looking for something wrong. But what about when we need filling up instead of clearing out?
