Gordon Davidson, co-author of Spiritual Politics and co-founder of the Center for Visionary Leadership, offers his profoundly optimistic view of our current time, a time in which he sees us completing a long era of matter-dominated consciousness and opening to a recognition that we are all spiritual beings learning and awakening together here on Earth. The main task now is to act lovingly and compassionately for the good of the whole planet and recognize that war, arrogance, and greed are increasingly outdated habits with undesirable results for all. The shift to a spiritually-based, sustainable, and holistic worldview begins with individuals doing deep inner work to connect with joy and a sense of unity as well as honestly facing and integrating split-off parts of our shadow. In this way, a new kind of leadership is born that is clear, integrated, and whole and which in turn creates healthier organizations and political systems.
