Dr. Rollin McCraty, the Executive Vice President and Director of Research at the Institute of HeartMath, provides a scientific perspective on intention in this interview with IONS’ Senior Scientist, Dean Radin. Intention is part of Rollin’s everyday life because he doesn’t see it as something that’s mystical, but practical. Before starting a project he sets an intention, which often correlates with synchronistic events. He describes an experiment conducted at the HearthMath Institute in which a variety of subjects set their intention on winding and unwinding DNA strands. Utilizing a well known measurement system, they determined that in addition to intention, a state of heart coherence, or positive emotions, had to be present to have an effect on the DNA. He also discusses the importance of learning to access the intelligence of our hearts, not the physical muscle, but the higher self, which creates a field that starts to multiply and becomes a larger field which helps develop an environment to enable people to make a planetary shift.
