Luminary: Dan Cherkin

Dr. Cherkin is Senior Scientific Investigator with the Group Health Center for Health Studies in Seattle. His research has focused on conducting randomized controlled trials to evaluate conventional and alternative treatments for low back pain, including chiropractic manipulation, acupuncture, yoga, and massage. Dr. Cherkin is particularly interested in conducting research that elucidates how healing occurs and to then use this knowledge to help redesign health care services to make them more responsive to patient’s needs.
