She is associate professor and senior scholar at the Center for Human Caring at the University of Colorado School of Nursing. A holistic nurse, she specializes in therapeutic touch and has written and taught extensively on its use in health care.

Quinn earned her Ph.D. in nursing research and theory development at New York University, and is a registered nurse in the State of Colorado and an Elected Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing.
