Lee Lipsenthal, M.D. is Founder of Finding Balance in a Medical Life. He has served as Medical Director of Lifestyle Advantage and HeartMath LLC as well as being Vice President and Medical Director of The Preventive Medicine Research Institute, with Dr. Dean Ornish, in Sausalito California. He also serves as the President of the American Board Of Holistic Medicine. He is a board-certified internist with postgraduate training in cholesterol disorders and cardiac rehabilitation.

He received his BS from George Washington University and his M.D. from Howard University, both in Washington, D.C. He completed his internship and residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. During his residency he developed the first multi-disciplinary cardiac rehabilitation in Philadelphia. This program involved stress reduction exercise and nutrition teaching.

He then went on to become Director of Cardio-Vascular Services for the Benjamin Franklin Clinic, in Philadelphia as well as a staff physician at The Pennsylvania Hospital. In this role, he developed treatment programs for patients with heart disease or risk of heart disease; he developed corporate wellness programs for national companies and consulted on patients with cholesterol disorders at the hospital.

Dr. Lipsenthal spent ten years developing clinical programs and lectures in prevention and treatment of heart disease. He has traveled the world as a lecturer and consultant to hospitals, national and international medical associations and heart associations. He has developed and implemented nationwide research projects evaluating the effect of comprehensive life style modification aimed at reversing heart disease, with Dr. Dean Ornish and research projects evaluating the effects of psycho-social-spiritual techniques on cardiovascular outcomes and function,

Dr. Lipsenthal has developed seminars, for physicians to enhance their well-being. The content of these seminars focuses on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health of the physician and their family. These seminars have been delivered to individual physicians and physician families as well as within large medical groups and medical training programs such as Kaiser Permanente, Sentara, Hill physicians, ThedaCare, St. Luke’s Medical System and University of California.
