Leon Curry

Dr. Leon E. Curry, M.D. graduated from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia in 1962. He was a Charter Diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice (1971) and recertified three times, a charter Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (1972), and a charter Member of the Georgia Society of Nephrology (1991). He held office in the Medical Association of Georgia, Flying Physicians Association, Georgia Medical Care Foundation, and Rotary Club. He was Visiting Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina.

He interned at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, attended the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army Aerospace Medicine Schools, and served at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Ban Me Thuot, Viet Nam. He was a Colonel in the Georgia National Guard, and Flight Surgeon/Commander of the 165th TAC Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.

He is a commercial multi-engine instrument-rated pilot and led a dance band for twenty years. He has been a “ham” radio operator since 1952 and holds an Extra Class license.

He practiced family medicine and nephrology (1966-2001) in Metter, Georgia. He is a member of the Parapsychological Association (1978).
