Aqeela Sherrills teleseminar on "Reverence Movement"
In this episode of Shift in Action Radio, Stephen Dinan hosts Aqeela Sherrills, the peacemaker who helped broker the 1992 truce in Los Angeles between the Crips and the Bloods. Aqeela has gone on to become a celebrated global peace leader and begun what he terms the "Reverence Movement," a peace process that allows people to see the sacredness in one another. Aqeela believes the only true path to reconciliation begins from within. He has advised government officials in Belfast and Serbia on the process of establishing non-violent communities; he has addressed the Hague and the United States Congress on the importance of peace, reverence, and non-violence; and he has brokered peace agreements between gangs in cities across the U.S. He and Stephen will discuss how a "reverence movement" can work in parallel with the new political administration to create a larger shift in our culture.
