In this teleseminar, Dr. C. Otto Scharmer of M.I.T explores the power of “presencing” in relationship to changes in systems such as business, health, and sustainability. With host Matthew Gilbert, Dr. Scharmer shows why industrial modes of organizing are creating poor results. The solution lies in a different kind of organizing principle that works with what is least visible to the eye – the inner aspect of how we operate. We tend to know everything about the “what” leaders do, but it’s also vital to understand the “how.”

The most essential capacity of leadership is the ability to shift the focus of attention. This skill requires an ability to work with inner realities – the source of our actions. The interview spans topics such as creativity, the social field, resonance, and the “blind spot” of leadership, thereby offering an intriguing glimpse of an emerging paradigm of leadership.
