IONS researcher Cassandra Vieten, and host Marilyn Schlitz, explore IONS ' continuing research on the role of spiritual, religious, and informal/non-traditional practices and experiences in how we transform consciousness - both our own and in the world around us.

Dr. Vieten focused on a new project she and colleagues are beginning that studies participants in three spiritual practice groups over the course of one year. As one of seven projects awarded by Duke University and the Templeton Foundation in a highly selective grant competition, this groundbreaking study will use novel techniques to study how people change, grow, and yes, struggle with their spiritual experiences and practices over time. They also discussed ‘mindful motherhood.’
