Chip Conley

In this teleseminar, author, founder and CEO of Joie de Vivre Hospitality, Chip Conley discusses Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs with host, Marilyn Schlitz, and how he has applied this in his business.
Chip identifies Maslow’s five levels of need: physiological; safety; social belonging; esteem and self actualization and how he combined the first two levels as survival needs; the third and fourth as success needs and the top as transformational need. He applied these three levels of need to his customers, employees and investors. And he took his employees through a process to help them move from having a job to a career or a calling. His 40 hotels have less than 1/3 the level of turn over than is the average for that industry. They discuss the content of Chip's book “Peak: How Great Companies Get Their Mojo from Maslow.”
