Gary Huffaker teleseminar on "Integral Medicine: Shifting the Focus from Disease to Thriving Health"
Retired Kaiser Permanente physician Gary Huffaker, M.D., is now working on an M.A. in Integral Theory from John F. Kennedy University. He talks with host Elizabeth Miller about integral theory and how it could be applied to the current medical system. One suggestion he has is taking medicine away from a third person focus to make a place for the “I” and the “we” in health care. Valuing the patient’s interior experience not just what is measurable is a direction Gary would like to see the medical profession head. One of his personal goals is to take the ideas he’s learning at JFK back to Kaiser when he’s done with his education.
