Janet Quinn 200x250

Join a thought-provoking discussion between mind-body healer, Janet Quinn, PhD and Consciousness and Healing channel host Marilyn Schlitz. Janet helped pioneer Therapeutic Touch and received the first federal grant for research in this field in the 1980s. She has created “Nightingale Centers‿ in hospitals and trained nurses to create rituals out of everyday practices such as washing their hands, which enables nurses to re-center themselves before moving on to the next patient. Janet talks about the toxic environment in hospitals that has created a shortage of nurses. The business solution of getting more people into nursing schools doesn’t fix the long range problem. Her plan to develop “Habitats for Healing‿ holds exciting potential for hospitals of the future.

This teleseminar was a pleasure to listen to, in terms of both content and structure. It was a very nice, balanced conversation between two well informed colleagues. Structurally, it should serve as a model for all IONS teleconferences.
