Join Dr. Kaethe Weingarten in dialogue with Quest for Global Healing channel hosts James O'Dea and Judith Thompson on "Common Shock: Witnessing Violence Every Day."

Dr. Weingarten founded and directs the Witnessing Project. She is an associate clinical professor of psychology at Harvard Medical School, an author or editor of six books, and a global teacher. Her book of the same title explores the impact of living in a culture in which we are continually exposed to violence and advances strategies to reduce the negative impact.

In this teleseminar, Kaethe shares how witnessing and coping with our chronic exposure to violence and violation (from traffic, newspapers and television--to war) takes a traumatic toll on us physiologically, psychologically and spiritually. The healing path from the sense of disempowerment and anxiety this exposure creates to a state of empowerment starts with awareness of self as a witness.
