It is really disappointing to hear this kind of feminist propaganda. Repression of women comes from the same source as all societal repression. We have to get at this fundamental source rather than putting forward another rehash of the simplistic argument that the world would be a great place if women were in control. It is not the gender of those in control that is the fundamental issue. It is a myth that women are somehow fundamentally morally superior to men and this myth carries the seeds of just another form of dysfunctional society.

The real problem facing this planet is how to wrestle control from the corporate centered plutocracy that is trying to manipulate and control all the people and resources of the earth in a vain attempt to satisfy their unquenchable thirst for wealth and power. In the face of this, gender issues represent an intellectual sandbox that allows burying of heads. It is exactly the sort of thing that the plutocrats want us focused on.

I'm disappointed that this could be considered some kind of feminist propaganda? There is no discussion at any point that women are morally superior, only that the inclusion of women in the power structure changes were emphsis is put. How could it not? Change dance partners and the dance steps will change.
Most of the discussion seemed to me revolve around the concepts that fundamentalist religions, regardless of the chosen diety, value domination (over women, races. or other religions) over cooperation and understanding.
If we people of earth, continue to believe in the domination model, we can not survive. We will destroy the planet that provides for our existence. Evolution is not just about the survival of the fittest via domination, it also is about the survival and florishing of those species that formed interdependent partnerships. Both concepts are needed to understand evolution, but far to much emphasis has been placed on domination. This has made for a very unbalanced, and therefore unhealthy planet. Were we to change the dynamic ti one were cooperation and nurturing were valued over domination and control this planet would take on a very different look.
We must not forget however, that the domination method can be very sucessful in the short term. We can not nurture a people while they are trying to eliminate us. Like a good parent we must set limits on behavior, and then teach the benefits of MUTUAL cooperation and caring.

Apparently, I listened very well as I took away exactly the same message as you did. The problem is that the message is wrong headed. It is intellectually equivalent to saying that white people should run everything, as they are obviously so much smarter than coloureds. Changing the colour or gender of the people in the existing power structure of the world will do exactly nothing to solve the world’s problems. Worse, it is a dangerous diversion to allow such an important issue to be hijacked by a political pressure group.

I was on the Eisler call, and heard no disinformation, detected no intent to deceive. That women have been methodically disempowered by patriarchal cultures for about five millenia is glaringly apparent to me.
A myth, as I understand the term, is simply a story intended to illuminate a fundamental aspect of the human experience. The contemporary misapplication of this term to imply falsehood is sloppy linguistics.
Eisler's well-researched insights hold up well to thoughtful scrutiny, both in their historical underpinnings and contemporary manifestations, and meet my standards for truth, to the degree that any single human can determine such.
What I have gleaned from Eisler's work, and the fertile discussion thereof, is the urgent need for a more balanced valuation of both feminine and masculine qualities in human society, and in individuals.
I discern unambiguous pathology in our current socio-political system, and find great relevance in Eisler's analysis of its probable origins. I'm encouraged by this renewed dialog, and anticipate beneficial outcomes. JED
