"PeaceJam" (the documentary) is a harrowing but inspiring look at the lives of five American teenagers growing up in a culture of violence, and the transformation that occurs when their lives are touched by greatness. "PeaceJam" follows five teens over six years as they face the stark realities of growing up, and as they work side-by-side with leading Nobel Peace Prize Laureates--including the Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Rigoberta Menchu Tum, and President Oscar Arias--and learn how to become leaders in their own communities. Their stories are often funny, sometimes tragic, and always edgy and real.

"PeaceJam" contains never-before-seen footage of leading Nobel Peace Prize Laureates working with youth in the US, South Africa, India, Guatemala, and Costa Rica, as well as rare footage from inside Columbine High School both during and after the shootings. The film contains an all-original score, including three original songs written by one of the teens featured, Columbine survivor Richard Castaldo.

PeaceJam (the Foundation) was conceived on the gritty, gang-infested streets of northwest Denver in the summer of 1994 by Ivan Suvanjieff and Dawn Engle.
