Dacher Keltner, in dialogue with host
Marilyn Schlitz for a live discussion in our Living Deeply Series at 11:00 am Pacific Time.
In this teleseminar we will discuss the latest science that answers the age old question of the origins of human goodness. We will trace this science back to debates over altruism in Darwin's day, and highlight Darwin's surprising insights into the nature of human goodness. We then will fast forward to the recent affective science, which has charted a set of emotions, including compassion, love, gratitude, and awe, that are rooted in our nervous systems and critical to the health of the body, the mind, relationships, and communities.
You will have the opportunity to ask questions of the guests and then participate in a community discussion.
The new Living Deeply series is presented by the authors of the "
Living Deeply" book, Marilyn Schlitz PhD, Cassandra Vieten, PhD and Tina Amorok, PsyD, and IONS staff. The discussions with the guests will focus on their process and experience of living a purposeful, directed and transformative life.
