Why are we here? Are we fulfilling our life’s purpose?
What is evolutionary intelligence trying to express through us?
Golden Gate Center for Spiritual Living presents:
Three Modern Mystics: A Celebration of Living Consciously
With visionary authors and teachers
Neale Donald Walsch, Dr. Jean Houston & Joan Borysenko, PhD
Saturday, August 9, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (lunch included)
Marin Veterans Memorial Auditorium
Smarter and more “conscious” living questions are on the minds of many people these days, especially as attention is riveted on a host of such compelling issues as climate change and life’s future; economic insecurity; domestic tranquility and international security; a groundbreaking US Presidential election; food shortages; weather anomalies; and even new directions in marriage. How are we to make sense of living in today’s world?
Addressing the importance of conscious connection with a Higher Intelligence in the face of such challenges, The Golden Gate Center for Spiritual Living in Corte Madera presents a day with three stellar leaders in the fields of personal spirituality, cultural evolution and mind-body medical science.
Three Modern Mystics: A Celebration of Living Consciously, August 9 at Marin Veterans Memorial Auditorium, brings together visionary authors Dr. Jean Houston, Dr. Joan Borysenko and Neale Donald Walsch for a full day discussion of their leading edge perspectives on the transformation of individual and collective consciousness, and how we can apply them to our most pressing personal and social issues.
These three pioneers in human potential are widely recognized as among the most original and inspiring teachers of our era.
* Futurist Dr. Jean Houston, one of the founders of the Human Potential Movement, has been researching evolutionary issues for 35 years. She has authored 26 books exploring new paradigms of personal and cultural experience and the importance of mystery and ritual to individual and social fulfillment. Her newest book, A Passion for the Possible, championed by Deepak Chopra and Marianne Williamson, presents an accessible guide to becoming all we can be. She speaks to our capacity to live lives worthy of our times, lives that will help to safely carry us across the threshold of one era and into the frontier of another.
* Psychologist Joan Borysenko received her PhD in Medical Science from Harvard University. She has amassed a distinguished body of work exploring the mind-body connection and integrating spirituality into the healing process. Her findings have revolutionized how the medical community relates to patients and illness. Her most recent book, Your Soul’s Compass, with her husband Gordon Dveirin, EdD, asks the question, “What is Spiritual Guidance?” and provides answers through the words of 27 Sages – spiritual teachers from many different faith traditions.
* Neale Donald Walsch has been having a profound personal dialog with God for more than 15 years. In this first ever Marin County appearance he’ll share wisdom from his most recent book, Happier Than God, which distills all the wisdom of his landmark Conversations with God series into a practical program for creating personal joy and fulfillment here and now, in collaboration with the Source of creation.
This year Golden Gate Center for Spiritual Living celebrates its 25 anniversary as a local leader in New Thought spirituality. Golden Gate is a teaching center based on the work of Ernest Holmes, who drew from many spiritual wisdom traditions in the 1920s to found Religious Science, also known as Science of Mind. The Science of Mind teaches that God is within everything and everyone, and our thoughts are powerfully creative. “Change your thinking, change your life” is its central principle. Golden Gate Center meets every Sunday, 10 a.m., at Corte Madera Recreation Center on Tamalpais Avenue.
The Three Modern Mystics event occurs from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., August 9th at Marin Veterans Memorial Auditorium. Tickets range from $60 to $185, including lunch. Premium ticket holders also receive an autographed book of their choice and a reception with Dr. Borysenko and Neale Donald Walsch following the program.
