Basic Beliefs About One's Life Purpose: An Integral Noetic Perspective
Probably we all have, more or less consciously or unconsciously, basic beliefs about our life purpose. Such beliefs appear to determine the foundation underlying our values, motives, behaviors, and attitudes toward material possessions. What are your beliefs? Philosophically speaking, there are no right or wrong responses to that question. Operationally, however, what makes my beliefs right or wrong depends on whether they work for me in a way that promotes more enjoyable healthful living. If interested, read each of the nine families of beliefs in the attachment, then indicate the approximate percent (%) of time your everyday operational working philosophy of living, aging, and dying is based on each of the nine basic beliefs. If your beliefs do not fit any of the categories listed, feel free to write them in the margin and/or on the reverse side. Percentages may range all the way from 0% through 100%. Once completed, addition of all the percentages of time should total 100%. As a suggestion, you may want to download hard copies of this chart (legal-size paper needed) for distribution to others for the purpose of comparison and discussion of views.
