Mundo Pequeno (small world)
IONS members often feel a sense of deep connection and simpatico that transcends boundaries and points to the collective field of consciousness we all share. Such is the case in this story we received from Beth Cushman, who is Wink Franklin’s daughter. Most of IONS members remember Wink, but for those of you who may not have had to chance to know him, he was the beloved president of IONS from 1996 through 2003. He passed away in 2004.
Beth, with her family, is relocating from the U.S. to Buenos Aires, Argentina for a year and through a series of synchronicities across several generations and vast geographical distance she meets IONS Board Member Ana Lia Alvarez there:
“Imagine my feeling of comfort to be in Ana Lia’s beautiful home in a northern Buenos Aires suburb and have her pull out audio tapes, videos, and articles all written by Wink from cupboards stacked with materials from the Institute of Noetic Sciences. Ana Lia poignantly shared how she was attracted to IONS because of Dad's vision, his writings, his belief in an emerging global wisdom, and his belief that international relationships are key to consciousness change. We discovered that both of Ana Lia’s daughters attended a school I had an interview with the next day (Edgar Mitchell had even spoken there), and later we learned that this special school had rare openings in both my girls’ levels. It seemed Dad had paved the way for these connections and opportunities.
“We all felt Wink's spirit moving through us, guiding us on this journey. I realized that I still have his wise guidance, the IONS community, and the synchronicities of our collective field no matter how far away I travel. I could go nearly 4,000 miles across the globe with my little family and walk into someone's living room who I have never met and there he would be helping to show his Grandchildren which school they should choose and connecting us with warm, loving, like-minded friends who knew him and treasure what he believed in most. Wow!�
