Bob's Balanced Chocolat (Dare I Call It 'Noetic Chocolat'?)
BOB'S BALANCED CHOCOLAT
Affectionately referred to as "Bob's Blobs" by my IONS community group, I designed this recipe to satisfy my more than occasional craving for chocolate without resorting to the carbohydrates-dominated varieties on the market. My preservative-free chocolate is hormonally balanced in protein (glucagon), carbohydrates (insulin) and monounsaturated fats for non-fattening optimumly healthful aging (unless you eat over 500 calories per sitting.) Note that monounsaturated fat burns fat, it does not make fat, and one tablespoon (hence the nickname "blob") has no more than 29 calories.
MY RECIPE
1 C Soy Protein Powder - natural vanilla flavor (We use Whole Foods’ Brand)
¾ C Unsweetened Chocolate Powder (Ghiradelli’s seems to have the most antioxidants)
1 tbs Vanilla (preferably non-alcoholic)
1½ tsp 100% Stevia Powder (*I use KAL’s Pure Stevia Extract Powder. Adjust to taste.)
1 1/2 C Pure Water
½ C Cashew Butter (no salt added)
INSTRUCTIONS: After separately warming the liquids, stir ingredients together, preferably with an electric mixer, start low for a bit and end high. Thoroughly blended the mix should end up with a consistency much like a combination of mousse and fudge. Cool, and serve. Freeze if you want to keep over one week. We fill three Rubbermaid cups, freezing two for future reference.
The above recipe makes one batch of three cups.
1 TBS serving = approximately 2 gm protein 3 gm carbohydrates 1 gm monounsaturated fats 29 calories
ENJOY!
