If I Could Create One Shift in the World, What Would It Be?

I visualize a world in which all of the wisdom systems (including religions, training groups for healing and psychic development, transformational programs, and psychology departments) coordinate themselves together as a single spiritual force for good. Such a force could, for example, work together in an intentionally entangled manner to bring peace into regions of conflict through a coordinated global visualization of light in churches, synagogues, circles, temples, and other organizations, while simultaneously dispatching professional mediators into the region to find a way to agreement between the two sides, while simultaneously dispatching allopathic healers, psychological healers, and energy healers into the region to reduce suffering—and more.

I visualize this united spiritual force moving together in a step-wise fashion (as if in a dance) to end hunger, to end child abuse, to end rape, to end illiteracy, and to end other challenges to this planet and it’s occupants. To do all of these things, this spiritual force must be organized in real time using real people. To do all of these things in a karma-clean manner, this world-wide system must be the following:
1) Voluntary
2) Nonhierarchical
3) Acknowledging and honoring the elders of every spiritual and growth-oriented path on earth.
4) Responsive to wisdom contributed by even the smallest child.

I visualize this spiritual force acting together as one to create and disseminate a training curriculum for personal and cultural evolution to anyone on earth who wants it. I see this personal growth curriculum being available in both local groups and video-conference classrooms on the Internet, and I see it as a growing, changing curriculum that both honors sacred texts and writes new ones.

I see this spiritual, psychological, and energetic curriculum being practical enough that it applies to every challenge that you have in your life. Whatever it is that challenges you, you can go to a Website and navigate (through a short series of steps) to find the exact meditation or exercise that you need for your specific challenge on that specific day. Some of these meditations are voice-guided. Some are animated. Some of the journaling methods are automated in amazingly complex ways.

Each of the exercises is supported by blogs and/or video-conference practice groups. If you want a meditation partner, co-mentor or study partner, you just ask for one. And this community system of groups and Internet is part of the mechanism by which world problems are addressed—as described in the first paragraphs of this post.

I visualize the organization developing a feedback mechanism so that the curriculum can be continuously developed as more and more luminaries become involved in it. In addition, it is constantly tested scientifically, and there’s another feedback loop by which the curriculum continually absorbs the experience of its students and the knowledge that they learn from their personal experiments with life.

This all-embracing curriculum serves to stimulate evolution throughout the culture. A group of Buddhists might find that by learning EFT and EMDR and incorporating it into the monastic practices, they can eliminate nonattachment far more quickly than before. After such an experiment, who knows what they might do or how they might evolve their practice?

Meanwhile, Kundalini yogis might experiment with the Western Christian practice of speaking in tongues as a way of increasing their connection with the Holy Spirit of energy flowing through their chakras. And simultaneously, thousands of Christian churches find it meaningful to use a variant of the Buddhist Tonglen meditation to enhance their own experience of Christian compassion. And if everyone on earth was doing this, who knows what we might do or how we might evolve our personal practice—as well as our political practice, economic practice, and social practice.

In 2003, I presented this vision to the Executive Board of the Nine Gates School, consisting of Rigby Leighton, Deborah Jones, and Gay Luce. After my 45-minute presentation, the four of us did a Chrysalis Wisdom Council for a little more than an hour. In this Wisdom Council, Deborah told me that I needed to stop carrying this vision by myself. In fact, she said, I no longer was able to carry this vision by myself, because now, they had it. The three of the encouraged me to find a way to present this vision to IONS.

I have a curriculum that I’ve been developing for some time. The original vision came to me around February 18, 1976. I didn’t start writing until the early 1990s. I’ve concluded that I’ll never finish it. But it’s 1200 pages long, right now, and I call it the Global Wisdom System. This document is currently structured exactly like the Website that I described earlier in this post.

My goal is to give it away to some organization that will be the container for this global wisdom society spiritual force. I would like the organization that I give it to to have a lot of luminaries and visionary members who will want to contribute to it. I would like to give it to an organization that is scientific and Internet-savvy. I would like to eventually have a job working to actualize this vision.

What I’m currently doing is forming a Webcam group that will use the Chrysalis Wisdom Council to discuss the spirit of the curriculum in various ways. There is a limit of eight people in a Chrysalis Wisdom Council. To participate, you must have a Webcam and headset. These can be purchased from Radio Shack for as little as $30 for a package deal. You must also have the free software that you can download from ivisit.com. You can work with the help desk people from ivisit to get your system up and running.

In addition, I’m planning an eight-session energy healing course that I will teach by Webcam over the Internet next year. Other courses might include chakras, noetic time management, or trance. At the end of each of these groups or classes, I am already asking participants to donate to IONS by asking them to do a donation meditation with me. In addition, anyone who wants to join these groups or classes must first be a member of IONS.
