Bringing Chakra Awareness into Daily Consciousness

At the November 11 Chrysalis Wisdom Council, I met with Rachel Besserman over the phone because her computer is currently in the shop. Earlier, Jeff DeCelles and I did our Wisdom Council by Webcam, but he still is having hardware problems, and he wanted to sit this one out to let Rachel experience the process.

Common Ground

Rachel and I quickly came to an agreement that bringing chakra awareness into daily consciousness would be a juicy topic to explore with this Wisdom Council. We have each found that the activities and concerns of daily life sometimes leave us too distracted for regular chakra practice. However, incorporating chakra awareness into daily life is even more important than regular chakra practice—and thus, although it’s more of a challenge, the rewards of succeeding are also greater.

Two Approaches to Chakra Development

There are two ways to approach learning your chakras. You can find chakra work that is relevant to your current challenges, or you can do a general chakra practice that stimulates the entire system.

Working with a group or taking a course is a more general way of learning something. It’s less personalized. In teaching the chakras, I’ve noticed that when people work on chakras together, the knowledge that each person needs is more available to everyone in the group because it’s been transmitted by each person into the group’s entangled mind. Thus, working on chakras with others in a group can assist you in bringing chakra consciousness into your daily life. The group mind can serve as map or locator system for locating the inner faculties that the group has put their intention onto.

There’s also an advantage with focusing on your own needs and challenges, instead of simply going along with a group learning process. When you’re out of balance, challenged by the conditions in your life, and you’re looking for your center, those challenges can bring you into a deep study of one or another chakra. Carolyn Myss, who Rachel has studied, recommends unplugging yourself from the tribal patterns of depending on group energy to be the center of your practice.

Sharing Our Tools

Both of us feel that we have challenges connected to our third chakra. Rachel handles hers with a variety of tools, such as using Carolyn Myss’s Tree of Life system and doing tai chi on the Hebrew kabala. She also demonstrated a method that she learned from using the Chakra Oracle Cards of Ambika Wauters in which she visualized her body as a flute and sang the traditional Sanskrit biji mantras as a scale. For her, this methodology of using sound vibrations for energizing her chakra system was an extension of her awareness as a small child that sound and vibration energized her on deep.

I spoke about my experience that I’m most in tune with my chakras when I’m teaching them. I described Global Wisdom Chi Gung, which I taught for six months at a software company I was employed by as a brown bag seminar, or the chakra classes where classmates who experienced their heart chakra already communicated that experience to novice classmates by using the laying on of hands technique.

I said that I truly miss the group energy because of the way that it assisted me in my own growth. However, as Rachel pointed out, ultimately, I’m the person that I most need to connect with—and that ultimately does not depend on group energy.

I was particularly pleased to learn about Rachel’s method of singing the biji mantras. Since the Global Wisdom System is a porous system, I hope to eventually incorporate her method into it, just as I have changed the Chrysalis Wisdom Council method because of feedback from Nine Gates Mystery School. Once I have figured out the organizational details of giving away my copyright, I hope to develop a mechanism by which the Global Wisdom System absorbs the wisdom and knowledge of all of its members—and I hope that someday, this will include many of the teachers and other luminaries that are already involved in IONS.

Rachel expressed excitement over the use of Webcam technology for energy transmission and healing. Since she serves young mothers through her Website at emmetessentials.com, she envisions developing Webcam technology to assist her in giving long-distance Reiki to women who are giving birth.

Choices

The final step of every Chrysalis Wisdom Council is crystallizing and intentionalizing what we each learned by setting our intentions. This is necessary because Wisdom Councils take us into an altered state of mind, and it’s helpful to use words to create a bridge from this altered state back to normal consciousness.

I like to encourage people who attend Wisdom Councils to participate in each other’s choices. For this reason, I’m listing some of our choices without attaching names to them.
  • I choose to create a practice sending energy to whatever group I’m working with, to IONS, and then to the world beyond.
  • I choose to focus my practice on using chakra energy for personal growth, my family needs, and group work—in that order.
  • I choose to continue working with my other current methods of personal growth at a reduced level so that I can focus more on using my chakras in many different ways, including using the Tonglen compassion exercise for my current challenges.
  • I choose to live with enthusiasm for life, to stay centered and relaxed, and to energize myself and my chakras every day.
  • I choose to continue exploring movement and sound for energizing my chakras, using Reiki symbols to radiate love and light from each center to heal all the people I come in contact energetically or directly.

The Donation Meditation

At the end of every session that I do, I ask participants to take part in the 180-second donation meditation, which I consider a training method in its own right. I ask participants to tune in to their higher selves and to ask the following questions:
  1. What’s the most important lesson that I learned from this session?
  2. How can I most effectively apply that lesson to my specific needs?
  3. Is it highest wisdom to donate to IONS at this time?
  4. What dollar amount should I donate?

In my opinion, tuning in to your higher self, listening to its advice, and following through with your commitments to it constitute a process that is unfamiliar to many people. I therefore consider this final three-minute meditation to be an important part of any session that I teach. I have been donating to IONS after every session myself, because I believe that I need this meditation as much as anyone.

The next Chrysalis Wisdom Council will be on Saturday, November 25, at 10:00 AM PST. My choice of 10:00 AM on Saturday is that a group at this time would be available across in both North and South America, as well as most of Europe and Africa. To join, email me at globalwisdom@sbcglobal.net.

There is a limit of eight people in a Chrysalis Wisdom Council. To participate, you must have a Webcam and headset. These can be purchased from Radio Shack for as little as $30 for a package deal. You must also have the free software that you can download from ivisit.com. You can work with the help desk people from ivisit to get your system up and running.

know thyself and to thyne own self be true

Thank you Cougar for affirming the wonderful intentions and goals, in your writing above.

The flute excersize is indeed a powerful and simple tool we can use anyday at anytime and anywhere. Visualization is a strong element in realizing our intentions.

And the Web Cam is such a powerful realization of community and learning.

I'd like to add to Carolyn Myss's perspective of unplugging from the group, that there is a paradoxical unity between group and individual. One is whole while residing in both. The group is where action can take place. Exchange of ideas and money, the most basic of energy forms.

I highly admire your aspirations for learning and philantropy in the Ions community.

I sent the amount of money in that my higher self so swiftly inspired. It was easy and affirming of my power to create instant energetic change.

Thank you.

count me in for this adventure in human cosciousness and healing.

Yay!

(:

p.s.

Oh, folks get yourselves involved in this now, there is an 8 person max to each session and this is some valuable juice for your personal journey. A rich soil for our manifestations and releases.
