Your channeled selves?

My second share, this time some intellectual wondering about embodied vs. soul identity (self within Self) and "who" it really is that gets channeled and embodied in the whole pre-life, past-life, life, post-life affair... [if this "Share" space is not like a blog, someone please advise]: As I finished another one of Gary Schwartz's inspiring and thought provoking books, I found myself wondering anew with mind-play about the actual 'identity' of a "self" within higher Self... My curiosity: If after someone's death we can channel them... if they are still broadcasting, but from another channel that no longer includes their corporeal incarnation...and if a good medium can pick this up, then the 'self', as it were, even if somehow a flowing construction of teleological relations as an expression of Self, must continue on (the immortal soul?)...meaning that, in a sense, some quality or aspect of the essence of someone's self as they were experienced by others within their 'personality' and constructed embodiment can nonetheless continue to broadcast... and was broadcasting even before they were embodied (perhaps as someone else?)... and then perhaps even encarnate again in another corporeal vehicle... (bear with me, perhaps familiar to many, I'm trying to get my mind around this, so I'm free associating it here to get it out). O.K., cutting to the chase and my convoluted attempt at wondering aloud...imagine this: If someone 'past life regresses' a person and picks up some other "self", that is to say, some essence of a person that existed with a self 'personality' of another name at another time, if going back in time and regressing THAT person way back then, would one have picked up yet ANOTHER 'person' or "I" identity by another name (another 'self')...and so on and on...until(do the math on that one!)...meaning WHAT would that mean for one's own identity now and the person (personality of my self or "I") one might appear in (of course, with a different name and identity) should one appear in someone's 'past life regression therapy' some hundred or so years from now, and then in another hundred...and on and on...when they are 'regressed' in some future therapy? And how does this fit with one self only being able to selectively 'be' another embodiment of another selective self? Ideas? Hmmm.

I think that what we basically are, are channellers. For instance, during this segment of your life in this reality, you (the creator of this thread) are channeling the dominant mind-style, memories, thoughts, feelings and beliefs of the life and personality known as Johannes ... but you do not have to be fixated on the mind-style of that character.

For a period of time, we can instantly, easily and quite naturally flow with the thoughts, feelings, beliefs and points of view of others. In fact, I think we do it all the time. Our ego may say that the thoughts, feelings and galleries of images that we see inside ourselves, originate from us and are our exclusive property, but in fact they are community property that is being shared and translated by other like-minded and like-feeling beings on an inner telepathic network.

What we really are is a living, conscious presence -- an invisible, super-conscious soul who is living in a physical body. The physical human form is the soul carrier. The soul is a spotlight of awareness, that lives in the human body, but she can direct her attention anywhere she pleases.

Through the normal functioning of mirror neurons in our brain, as soon as we think about another person, we instantly reach out to their presence in the quantum field and start tuning into their imagery, thoughts and patterns of energy. We mirror them, psycho-dynamically speaking ... as holographic content associated with them begins to swirl in our inner world.

Hence, not only do we channel people who are no longer in physical form, but we also channel people who are alive and well ... our parents, friends, children, anyone that we tune into ... even people who we may not like. Whoever we have in our minds and feelings ... we are reaching out to them ... and channeling them. We are translating their energy ... and seeing and feeling a reflection of them in our inner world.

I created a 10-page visual essay in pdf form that explains the point of view, expressed above. You can download it here:

Here is how I intro the pdf ...

The Regular Guy & the Whole Self
Who do you think you are? Whose thoughts and feelings are flowing through you? This essay is for meditators, people on a spiritual path, and students of psychology and physics who are able to step beyond the force fields of ego and be a quiet, open and honest presence in the spacious theater of their inner world.

Also, here is a compilation of recent relevant articles in the news on the new discoveries in the fascinating world of mirror neurons. It is a 27-page pdf:

Hello Teka,
Thank you very much for those insights. In my own experience, I can confirm the validity of your essential point. Yet... my experiences also seem to suggest that there is something more circumscribed... something more to the nature of identity to the extent that it is not simply where my attention and intention is manifesting...or even the relation of another sentient beings attention and intention on my being into my "interbeing" self. There seems to be a unique entelechal property that includes and excludes... that delimits identity and purpose, however fluid and changing, and however much constructed by the manifest relation of things. I will follow up and contemplate more on what you have shared and see what arises. Thank you again.

In light,

Johannes

A story of the Soul

My view is that we are channelers of a multitude of mind-styles, thoughts, personalities, memories, beings and life-times. Though we think we are a single personality, all that idea is, is a thought with boundaries.

And who is it that is able to channel hundreds and thousands of personalities and beings who are spread across thousands of years of linear time? It is the eternal soul. That is actually who we are.

Think of the soul as an invisible, limitless, spiritual entity who is inhabiting the physical body. The soul is a God fragment who LOVES exploring the universe in all dimensions ... in a multitude of bodies that are cast across eons of time.

Still, from the physical dimesion perspective the soul is invisible and it uses biological vehicles (bodies) to carry it around on a planet so that it can see and feel the environment ... to know what it is like to be human in all its glory ... and to participate in evolution.

But the soul is what we are. It is the eternal here-and-presence that is hard to put your finger on, and cannot be accurately defined in words.

To most people, "presence" feels like nothing at all and they give it no value. However, in that presence resides a reflection of the whole Universe. And so the presence of soul may be more aligned to spaciousness, rather than solidity ... and that space is in every atom and between the stars. The soul is a quantum field-based being.

The mind, personalities, thoughts, memories, dreams, life-times and environments (both real and imagined) that the consciousness of the soul experiences, are the things the soul focuses on and engages with in its exploration of Creation in the vast multi-dimensional Universe.

One final idea: the soul is a conscious God particle, a limitless quantum field being, an active life force. The soul is so vast that it is not limited to living in one physical body at a time. It is an offspring of God and can have a conscious fragment of itself in a multitude of bodies all at the same time. For the sake of this story, lets say that the soul can be in 1,000 different human forms all at the same time ... and so to the soul there is a collective experience of 1,000 different incarnations that are spread across 100,000 years of linear time, but from the soul's perspective they all are happening at the same time -- NOW -- for the soul lives in the eterma;. timeless moment of Now. The soul's natural time is "quantum field time" ... you might say.

Peace,

Hi Johannes,
You've posed some interesting questions. Have you seen life between lives regression hypnotist Michael Newton's books titled Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls? If not, you may want to take a look. While he doesn't claim to be as scientific as Ian Stevenson or Gary Schwartz he has studied approximately 7,000 regressions and compiled some interesting data which may be of use to you.

Best wishes,

Bob Johnston

Thank you, Bob! I have never heard of Michael Newton. Ian Stevenson and Gary Schwartz I am well familiar with... as I have tried to stay away from anything that I could cross check with my 'eye of mind' epistomological sensibilities. I think reading the works you suggested is just what the doctor ordered...if there are any of his you particulary recommend, please advise. I haven't yet read anything from Hastings, Tart, or Moody on this topic and wonder if you (or anyone reading this) might know if they have written on it. Some of my own recent experiences with "channeling" (on my own) have made this more of a niggling issue for me. As with the work of scholars and scientific investigators around this, it seems not enough for me to feel or meditate my way through this without finding a way to articulate some map of it that will satisfy all my energies. If say, a person named Jon Smith says to this therapist that he in fact was Raul Somebody... and that some of Raul's personality and tempermental diatheses are showing up in Jon... and Jon's 'this life' history and relations conspires to build upon this diathesis toward some intentional actions in the world... and then one day, that links up with, say, Lulu Someone who has it in for Jon and does him in with pitchfork... and then Jon suddenly shows up in a child's memory that happened to walk into Ian Stevenson's office 8 years later or so... would that mean that Jon's bereaved family members would not be able to access Jon readily (via channeling) because he's now working on completing his project through this new being? And then, Jon's bereaved family might actually be picking up Raul anyway, right? But wait, Raul was someone else before that, no? And then that child in Ian's office will go either "graduate" earth school by completing the "purpose" here, or go on to be yet someone else until it is seen through??? And then, the population of the planet is increasing... so perhaps part of Jon will show up in several children, though not all of them will make it to Ian's office. Then... if one of Jon's bereaved pass on themselves, and they fully expect to see Jon there in the beyond waiting for them in the after life... if Jon is active doing something in his new incarnations, would Jon still appear to the bereaved that pass on and expect to him to be there... and would Raul's family also pop in there somewhere? Or if one of Jon's dear family members nearly die, having an NDE, would they see Jon there, or would there be a note that says he's busy in another incarnation? With a growing population of incarnated humans, do they get more dilute... or do they just keep srouting up new ones... all those new ones must relate to the original one? These are an example of how when the mind approaches this seeking some intellectual clarity on that level of being... what I mean by "niggling". My experience and the research shows that our transpersonal self is indeed very 'real'. Tat vam asi also feels natural. The bereaved being able to channel their unique loved ones (e.g. Jon, and not Raul by mistake), or see them on NDE or passing...in otherwords so many transpersonal pieces of information... so many parapsychological things confirmed that are consistent with timeless spiritual principles... but yet the "meaning", direction, and purpose to it all is so mysterious...most days I can just smile and be content in the awe and mysterium of it all... other days or seasons, my own 'selves', my own diatheses, my own network of relations conspire to keep me asking the niggling bits. Will look at the works you recommended...many thanks again! Johannes

Hi, Johannes. Thanks for opening a juicy and delicious thread.
Relevant in my inquiry into these topics has been: Association of consciousness with quantum mechanical field theory, particularly Ed Mitchell's insights around the quantum hologram and phase-conjugate adaptive resonance. A singular identity may be understood as a unique juxtaposition of resonances in a higher dimensional superspace, a "signal" which episodically downloads into a lower dimensional container, like you or I. This clicks with Bruce Lipton's work.
John Haeglin has some very intriguing insights which apply string theory priciples to these notions, also requiring some advanced mental gymnastics, but, hey, that's what gets my mojo working.
Fractal geometry has opened some doors into how this energy/information dynamic might be encoded. The technology of fractal antennas, now in every cell phone, points to a modality of ingression for non-local info into matter; also how incarnate humans might tune in to other identities through resonance.
William Tiller's work with Intention Imprinted Electronic Devices suggests how conscious intent interacts with matter, also involving a multi-dimensional model. More cognitive heavy lifting.
Finally, Terrence McKenna's Novelty Theory, laid out in his book, The Invisible Landscape, articulates an insight into time itself, also incorporating a fractal dimension, and suggesting the fundamental nature of our cosmolgical context. This is the tastiest nugget I've found. JED

Great suggestion Bob! Another, much less scientific, but enjoyable read that offered some insight to me about the nature of the 'self' and past lives, is Jane Roberts "Oversoul 7" books. Jane was the channel of all of the Seth Materials. The Oversoul series fictionalizes some of the concepts channeled by Seth.

Thank you, Angela, will put that one on my list as well!

What's On My Mind

Beyond the Informational Ground (Avogadro Limit in Homeopathy)

Johannes | 03.02.06 | 07:19 AM

My first share, so this one's more of a test, but here goes: Further to my 1996 statement on homeopathic remedies beyond the Avogadro limit that an essentially non-energetic meaningfully ordering informational ground is primary to any energy and biochemical transduction to account for the remedies action in the treatment of whole system emergences of health, I did not write more about what I noticed in a dream thereafter about the feedback to and fro to this informational ground (not included in the published articles because it was just a dream, right?)...was that two 'informers' were necessary...
