In a recent Declare post titled An Integral Noetic Soul Concept I said one of my working assumptions is that the soul is timeless and brainwaves are temporal. If that is true, brainwaves are within one's scope of conscious transformational self-managing. Brainwaves could then be seen as a possible major intercommunications link between one's timeless soul and temporal brain. So what does all that have to do with transformation? I believe one answer lies in what neurologist and psychiatrist Viktor Frankl once said.

“The last of the human freedoms is to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances.” He believed it was his choice of the right attitude that kept him alive and inwardly free during World War II when he was subjected to three years Nazi persecution in death camps. I use the chart titled My Inner Conscious Experiences and Their Brainwave Patterns (inspired by Anna Wise, 1995) as a frame-of-reference for ascertaining where I have been during my inner experiences (otherwise known as tripping down the rabbit hole) so I can continue to consciously choose among four brainwave levels -- beta, alpha, theta, and delta -- the transformational attitudes I want to deploy in any given circumstance. I've attached the chart for any use you may want to make of it.

Note: You will need legal-sized paper if you want to download a hard copy of my attached chart titled My Inner Conscious Experiences & Their Brainwave Patterns.

Also, if you would like to see who inspired my work in this area since 1981 see Elmer and Alyce Green's Beyond Biofeedback (1974) NY; Dell Pub; and over the past twelve years Anna Wise (1995), The High Performance Mind -- Mastering Brainwaves for Insight, Healing and Creativity. LA: J.P. Tarcher.
