Hello All,

As an 11-year IONS Community Group leader, I'd like to report on our Memphis group, Noetic Explorers. We've been meeting monthly, and my-o-my, have we learned a lot! Most of my Memphis-area friends have been made through leading this group. It’s a huge benefit for many, to say nothing about what we've learned or been exposed to over these years.

Here are some highlights--the Top Ten--of the past three years’ programs and efforts we’ve undertaken:

1) In 2004, we saw the gorgeous film on fractal geometry, Arthur C. Clarke’s “Fractals: The Colors of Infinity.” We watched in complete awe the computer-imaging of color-filled mandala-like movements of this geometry creating life, shapes, and itself (with music by Pink Floyd). This film told of the discovery of fractal geometry with commentary by Dr. Benoit Mandelbrot (of the Mandelbrot Set) and featured other scientists using this geometry in ways we didn’t know such as in compressing files Internet-sending! This film included Stephen Hawking.

2) That same year, we saw another amazing display of beautiful geometric patterns. We viewed the premier film of aerial photographs of England’s geometric Crop Circles and hosted a speaker from middle Tennessee who is one of the state’s experts on this subject.

3) Another 2004 highlight was the two-part official film on the two people responsible for receiving & transcribing the word-for-word five-year “download” of “The Course in Miracles.” Part One showed dream sequences of Helen Schucman’s strange voyage into her dream world. Part Two featured Judith Skutch, the person most responsible for taking the book from manuscript to production when she formed a study group in California. (Ms. Skutch, it must be noted, was later a key figure on the IONS Board, and introduced “The Course” to Edgar Mitchell and Willis Harman, former IONS president, both of whom studied it. (This was one of earliest demonstrations that IONS would proceed along both a scientific and a spiritual path, although the latter path is not publicized.)

4) In Jan. 2005, we hosted Edgar Mitchell & IONS prez James O’Dea in Memphis for a weekend event that attracted 725 IONS members and fans from several states. The Monday following, Mitchell addressed 1,200 math & science students hand-chosen by their teachers. Our gross proceeds neared $7,000. So after expenses, we handsomely paid Edgar, gave an $800 donation to IONS, paid our Unity church partner $850, and bought a projector, DVD/VHS player, & speaker for ourselves with a tiny bit left over.

5) Late in 2005, we saw the eye-popping global warming documentary by Canada’s most renowned environmental scientist, Dr. David Suzuki, produced by his network, the CBC. This was a feature we got through Spiritual Cinema Circle.

6) We watched "ONE, the Movie" at the beginning of 2006. I had tears each of the three times I saw it as the featured spiritual people are so beautiful. It featured Robert Thurman, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Father Thomas Keating, Sufi Master Llewelyn Vaughan-Lee, and many, many other spiritual leaders of all faiths giving their views on what it means to say or know that “we are all one.” See the web site to buy this film, http://www.onethemovie.com/

7) Nearly 70 of us watched "The Secret" in August of 2006. Some of us realized the importance of correcting SUB-conscious beliefs that could stand in the way of applying this, the Law of Attraction.

8) My own life was changed positively when I began having sessions with our April, 2006, speaker on the technique called Psych-K. I wanted to change destructive subconscious beliefs, the promise/premise of Psych-K. Our speaker was one of the first seven to learn Psych-K by Rob Williams, the founder. (Dr. Bruce Lipton credits Rob as his own savior.) See the site: http://www.consciousmedianetwork.com/members/rwilliams.htm I'm enormously impressed. I recently completed the Advanced Psych-K Course and am continuing.

9) In Oct., 2006, I read passages from the first book by Adam, the young healer from Vancouver, Canada to our group. Then we watched Adam’s DVD which in moving color demonstrates the visualizations he uses while healing a variety of dis-eases. I was reading Adam’s first two books and watching his DVD in preparation for his Virginia workshop that same month, also featuring Bruce Lipton and Edgar Mitchell. An update: Adam’s two five-minute energy sessions for a crowd of 500+ gave me a complete healing of a hip difficulty! It had been bothering me for four months and has not returned in the 3 1/12 months since, even though I walked six miles on New York City streets three weeks later!

10) In December, we saw "Zen Noir", the campy, zany, fun-filled, yet lesson-based film. See the fabulous web site, definitely worth visiting for the artwork and fun of it: http://www.zenmovie.com/

Thank you, Linda!

For sharing this info. I have already enjoyed reading through and listening to clips on Rob Williams Psych-K work.

I am so interested in this muscle testing field of study. Truly something to explore in the mind-body world.

All the links you offer are an inspiration and have even sparked the idea of starting a Northampton-based group. Thank you!

Keep up the good work!

R(:

p.s. good fundraising prowess!! We can learn from this too . .
maybe you could expand on how you started all this.
