NoeticJobs.com ?? Creation of Career/Job Resources!!

I would like to see a practical resource for people wanting to serve and contribute more... in noetically grounded jobs and careers... something along the lines of a "NoeticJobs.com" or "SHIFTwork.com"... a resource link/place where those that would LOVE to bring more of their "signature strengths" into full realization in meaningful work and service can go to view various career and job related opportunities, development, training in ALL sectors... private, non-profit, government, etc.. Can the greater IONS community and/or a special committee come together to create such a valuable resource?
Let me think aloud with an example (it might take me a bit off the main point, but how it relates will be clear). One example on such a site would a link for "Integral Healthcare" jobs and careers. Consider, for example, that there are a LOT highly trained/qualified (and cross-trained), motivated, licensed, certified, and registered practitioners, educators, and scholars of the Healing Arts and Complementary Medicine, and Alternative Therapies that are still essentially "locked out" and marginlized in terms of job and career opportunities that "big/right ticket" (e.g. RN, MD, DO, ND, APA accredited PhDs, LCSWs) holders have access to. Wouldn't it be nice to have a resource page for expanded opportunities for those who have qualfied on diverse but equally valid paths? (consider, for example, that in the State of California, Licensed Professional Counselors, who are licensed to practice in 48 other states, can not do so in California; or consider that outside of California and one other state, unless you hold a conventional medical qualification, the limits imposed on highly trained and qualified homeopaths)
The type of advice given to such legions of otherwise wonderful healing folks (who are usually happy anyway, but often have so much more to offer than they are giving... most of whom are probably in some form of private practice, and some of whom find their ways into the odd teaching or seminar roles) is largely of the "Upper Left Quadrant" variety (e.g. the message is often something like "Get a 'real' ticket", or, "...if you haven't individually manifested a greater and fuller role, then that is your 'individual' and private matter having to do with your consciousness, intent, and manifestational skills" ... trifling, of course, the other Integral quadrants of external socio-cultural and economic realities and how we collectively manifest one another that impinge against such manifestation).
So... back to the point... it would be nice to see an IONS created resource for expanded career, job and service opportunities (including internships, career development, etc.) across major job sectors... healthcare, education, business, and so on. "NoeticJobs.com" or "SHIFTwork.com" is an idea I'd like to put out there to see what comes back. What can we come up with? Blessings, CKJ

Hi Johannes,

How would your suggestion differ in purpose and benefits from the professional profile page already part of SIA?

Best,

Bob Johnston

Hi Bob,

Thanks for responding. First, it would not simply be a showcase where people post their profiles. It would be a databank and resource with links upon links upon links to actual entities (organizations, networks, companies, NPOs, universities) and further resources that list "real" and actual noetic work... in the real world... in all varieties... and all the various ways to both manifest, emerge/create, attract and find that kind of work. Think of a "Noetic" Monster.com ...a noetic jobs and careers database... a place where the "monks without a monastary" can locate their monastary... not just in one country... but around the globe... think of listings of "real" and newly created position titles for "noetic" work across work/career domains listed in one place. A place where companies/organizations can feel at home to "Call" and attract the kind of beings they may otherwise not find... where they can state the need for a key new being for their organization...maybe even without a formal title yet... but one that will emerge. LET US ENVISION THIS... and bring things fully into real manifest and embodies service... at ALL levels of the work and service rainbow... not just the highest rungs for those with the economic comfort to pursue a "noetic hobby". I hope for more minds to come together on this to fully envision and create this. What would you propose, Bob?

Hi again, Johannes ~

Let me preface my response to your question with a salute to your huge vision. If it can be effectively realized in a noetic-based humanistic way I am all for it.

But I must admit my enthusiasm is tempered some by experiences I had in designing, implementing and maintaining human resource inventory and selection systems for medium to large Fortune 500 companies. This was back in the 60s and 70s when we had far less sophisticated computers systems than now so that's an important difference to keep in mind. Many of the problems we encountered especially in information retrieval and data updating may well be precluded today with the availability of more sensitive and higher tech computer hardware and software.

Also, it has been about thirty years since I have been involved with this kind of systems-building. Therefore, I'm sadly out of touch with the availability of state-of-the-art technology, not to mention advanced state-of-the-art which I think your wonderful vision would require to be successful. But then, you are probably more on top of what's going on in the field and can make a wiser judgement call than I as to the viability and practibility of your project.

So to sum up, I'm not saying such a vision as yours shouldn't be attempted. I'm just suggesting that serious preliminary feasibility research studies be done before proceeding too far.

Meanwhile, keep the stimulating innovational ideas coming!

Best wishes,

Bob Johnston

Hi Bob,

Thanks for encouragement! As I detailed in another recent Share (M.I.N.D. Project: Noetic Education), what may seem a tall order now, may be quite feasible, indeed, if the idea is seeded well. I'm definitely not very au fait with many computer and technological bits, but when you think of how things like 'Craig's List' (and things that occured via that list as well) got its start, for example, I should think it needn't be that daunting... I believe, as with the M.I.N.D. Project idea (contemplation in education, noetic skills in education), it simply takes a critical threshold of shared intent and vision to actualise... the benefits and need must be perceived. When I was proposing the M.I.N.D. Project, it wwas the Emotional and Ecological Intelligence curriculums that were the hot items on the menu, and the need for bringing in a "Noetic" curriculum was not received as something with added benefits or need. Now it is (e.g. Garrison Institute and their efforts for Contemplation in Education). I think that's the way it may work with this as well... but hopefully it can happen in a much much shorter space of time... and hopefully this time, people won't think too heavily inside the box. I don't need to be the driving force or the name behind it... just like I had no attachment to the M.I.N.D. Project... my hope is to seed the idea and let it take off... it may ultimately look different than what I proposed...and that's fine... I just hope some folks can "think experiment" with this enough to determine if it ultimately would be beneficial and needed... or not. Sooner the better. Clocks ticking on many fronts. Ciao for now, CKJ
