Dear Thtlandckptii,

Thank you for your post on cancer. I decided to make my response a post in its own right.

I've had a special interest in cancer over the years, particularly because both my maternal and paternal grandfathers and my father died horribly painful deaths from the disease. While I do not fear death itself, I prefer dying from just wearing out rather than enduring lengthy painful stays in a nursing home or hospice. I have come to see a combination of power thinking and balanced moderate nutrition is the best for me. Here's why.

During my younger (pre-sixties) years I religiously practiced what I call "Integral Mind Power", which seems similar, if not equivalent, to what your paper calls "Power Thinking." For many years it worked well, that is, until my early sixties when my body began to go through major metabolic change usually associated with older age. Along with other emerging maladies a skin lesion diagnosed as the beginning of melanoma appeared on my left forearm along with some other lesser lesions.

About ten years ago, after much research I began a major overhaul of my life style, a significant portion of which involved adopting a new integral nutrition regimen similar to what is known today as The Zone and South Beach Diet, respectively. (See my SIA Share post "Integral Healthful Aging: My Noetic-Based Checklist," http://www.shiftinaction.com/node/3130).

I continued my Integral Mind Power affirmations but added my new integral nutrition practice.

Within three months of replacing my old helter-skelter carbohydrates-dominated diet with this new moderate, balanced integral nutrition program consisting of animal and soy protein, complex carbohydrates, monounsaturated fats and Omega 3 to my diet, the melanoma patch and other skin lesions dried up. I have had no reoccurence of the melanoma nor has any other variety of cancer emerged. All this was verified by annual physical exams and one colonscopy every five years.

So at chrono-age 77 I have outlived by two years my longest living cancer-ridden ancestor and am completely cancer free. I enjoy generally superb mind-body health as well. For the past ten years my physician has ended by annual physical exams with "Bob, you are boringly healthy" or "You're disgustingly healthy."

In summary, as an integral ageless mind-spirit operating through an older mortal biological body, I have come to see the vital importance of using both Power Thinking (Integral Mind Power)and balanced, moderate nutrition in both the prevention and remediation of cancer as well as other diseases normally associated with older age.

Yours in integral health with best wishes,

Bob Johnston

Hello all,

I just received the results of my lipids panel from my physician and so feel like bragging a bit.

Total cholesterol 165 mg/dl (173 and below considered healthy)

HDL (good) cholesterol 52 mg/dl (average 40-45 mg/dl considered healthy)

LDL (bad) cholesterol 99 mg/dl (desirable level 130 and below is healthy)

Triglycerides 69 mg/dl (30-160 considered healthy)

Triglycerides to HDL cholesterol ratio 1.33 mg/dl (2.0 or below is healthy contributing to slowing of deterioration of bio-body from aging -- still no Viagra or the like needed)

As you can see all are in healthy range. Just thought you might be interested.

Thank you Bob. It is specifically your growth and development in your health and wellbeing that includes the power of our thinking that we are applying our disciplined research methodology to.

Much is said about our powerful internal thinking capabilities, but many other research projects that succeed do one criticlaly important thing, apart from increasing our knowledge, they provide reproducable outcomes, at least that element of research is our objective.

While our drive for greater health and wellbeing is an integrated love affair, I have seen what my father did when he used his internal powers, after being removed from his life support system. He re-invented himself after a double brain heamorage (at 94)and lived a full human existence for two full years until again he chose to call his time and passed away in the most gentle way not from any medical implications or complications.

My brother had a prostrate canncer operation, a year down the track I asked him how he was doing. He said simply using positive thinking. Being aware of my research, I also asked him, how he does 'do' positive thinking. As I would like to ask you about the element of the power of the mind, do you know the elements of the 'intergral power mind'.

It is only through a disciplined research methodology, that we believe we are adopting, which includes our Power Thinking® survey, that we will be able to map how we think and maybe then provide reproducable thinking maps for greater health and wellbeing.

As you have indicated, your 'integral mind power' is more than the use of our mind, our research too is integrated to provide better health and wellbeing outcomes through our thinking, emotions, physiology and DNA.

I want to get to that point in our human evolution where we can point to, not only external stimulants and/or interventions for greater health and wellbeing, but also directly point to and use our thinking and internal capabilities to do that and have that proved and supported through clinical tests and analysis.

I look forward to a robust conversation and many more health and wellbeing outcomes.
