What a stellar weekend we had with IONS President James O'Dea, May 4-6, 2007 in Seattle! We are so grateful to James for his willingness to forge into the frontiers of our IONS Northwest bioregional emergence, leading with this presentation cosponsored by Seattle Unity. Unity is a partner of IONS. The event was supported by over 50 organizations. Sr Minister Richard Levy introduced James and welcomed a community of 300-400 to his church.
Prior to the presentation James met with community leaders for a dialogue. He wove the essence of that conversation into his speech. James is always brilliant but this was one of the best speeches he has ever made. He reviewed the Shift Report and spoke about the science of change, how it relates to personal and collective transformation. This will infleunce the whole field of peace building. The new science heralds great hope, but it is not without its cautions. Among them, James spoke about the need to be attuned to our deepest self to access the real art of manifestation, aligning to consciousness at its core rather than being swept up by the stress of materialism. There were plenty of really chewy Q/A at the end. Those will be transcribed.
The musicians were IONS members, Dean and Dudley Evenson ("creating peace through music since 1979"), who have performed at previous IONS Conferences. Dean and Dudley also have a video DVD available from Sounds True with their music as background to great filming.
