I put things together for a living.
Precision machinery, exquisite engineering, aerospace tolerances. Waterjetting tools, passing across my bench on their way to jobs in Dubai, Singapore, Shanghai, Amsterdam, and, today, Natal, Kwa-Zulu Province, South Africa. (As well as Oklahoma City, Dallas, Chicago, and Apache Junction, Arizona).
I have to pay attention. Some of these operate at forty-thousand pounds per square inch of water pressure. Little things matter. (Picture a loaded semi-trailer, balanced on a postage stamp. This is Pressure, folks!).
I lay this out as background, a template of my temperament. I love this job. Things can be engineered, and if done impeccably, they work. Explicated from the Plenum by visionary download; morphed, in the digital VR forges of CAD, spun into formal being in automated CNC mills, QC'ed by fastidious guys running ruby robot fingers over sensitive areas to assure compliance.
That's the context I'm embedded in, one frame of Gnosis.
Meanwhile, the earbuds are in, and Edgar Mitchell is telling me that "our Sixth Sense should really be called our First Sense...", that non-local, hyper-dimensional, holo-graphic Consciousness is primary, that the precision stainless-steel nozzle (incorporating a synthetic sapphire orifice) in my fingers is a complex multi-phasic superposition of standing waves in phase-conjugate-adaptive-resonance.

No problem, Ed.

See, Ed's an engineer. I work for engineers. I grok his frame. When he brings it all together, head, heart, and Cosmos, I get it. And if I can, more can. If more do, more will. That's a cascade, folks. We know about those, here in the Rockies. They sweep all in their embrace, resistance is futile.
Only gracious surrender to the flow affords benefit.

The late, great Terence McKenna, had an apt phrase: "the Balkanisation of Epistemology" by which he referred to the willingness of many in this culture to swallow highly dubious notions, proclaiming them sublime truth. This insight, one of many gems of lucid thinking proferred by "The Bard", has served as whetstone to hone many razors of discernment.

Back in the 80's and 90's, I did the NewAge tour, Sedona, sweatlodges, crystals, sage, etc. Some still rings true, lots not. (You can picture it-getting smudged by a wheat-grass juicing walk-in, in a Medicine Wheel, in the Boynton Canyon Vortex, waiting for the Space Brothers).

(Still waiting)

In a nut-shell, I feel I have a highly developed appreciation for coherent thinking, and adequate experience with its polar complement. What I find in Ed Mitchell's words, and the vast preponderance of IONS media, is sound, coherent thinking, about very slippery topics, with rigor, compassion, and humor.

You just don't GET that in The Weekly World News.

I can download and burn a whole day's intellectual, spiritual, and community nutrition in thirty minutes from Shift-In-Action, and share any tasty nuggets of transformative wisdom with multitudes, in a few clicks. This is my window on a Bigger View, the Way to go, the Portal to Possibility.

As I turn wrenches on stainless steel, the wheels are turning upstairs. Vast holo-morphic info-matrices auto-explicate from the Bohmian beyond. I am entrained, a node of novelty in cascading concrescence.

Who says monkeys can't fly?

Smile, you're one of US!

You always bring such a playful brilliance to your commentary. It's always a treat to read, with novel phrases dancing in "cascading concresence." It always makes me smile to think of you cranking away on the job and synthesizing all the content we put out. I hope we get a book out of you sometime!

Thanks for sharing...
Stephen

Stephen, I'm honored by such praise, and look forward to meeting at the conference. Service to Higher Purpose does seem to be vectoring me to some form of communication media. McLuhan's insights on the evolution of media, in particular the psycho-cognitive effects of various formats in shaping consciousness, suggest a multi-sensory engagement may be optimal in this culture. To transmit the message of Transformation with maximal immersion and fidelity, coherent, high-bandwidth audio-visual media seem indicated. My guess is, the "Bleep" and "Secret" movies opened more minds, wider, than most books would precisely due to this factor. I sense an interview in morphogenesis... JED
