The Secret
I especially appreciated the conversation about Intension between Sheldrake and Radin. With the book and now the movie, THE SECRET, attracting a large audience the art of attraction is on the minds of many people. I found the treatment of intension and attraction to be very shallow in the film called THE SECRET.
Radin proposed thoughts about unknown consequences. When we ask for things we don't know the consequences. Sheldrake says his spirital practice is prayer and he concentrates on gratitude.
I'm reminded of the woman who won a trip to Florida a few years back. First prize! Sounded wonderful to her friends. That same woman was on the Value Jet which crashed into the Everglades. When we ask for things,we do not as Radin reminds us know the path of the 'thing'. When we ask for qualities of spirit as Sheldrake does when he asks for gratidude, we go both higher and deeper.
So the old adage, 'Be careful what you ask for' is once again there for us to contemplate.
