Awake while asleep

Hello,

I was very excited yesterday when I received the Shift Magazine about death. It is a very interesting subject for me. I feel that I communicate in several ways with other beings. One way is with numbers and another is orbs in pictures. I have had orbs in my pictures even before digital cameras. I was excited to read in the magazine about the book "The Orb Project" and also the website.

I have another interesting thing that happens to me. When I take naps I experience being awake and asleep at the same time. Lately I have also experienced being awake and asleep and dreaming all at once. To explain how this feels, my body is very heavy and is really getting a lot of rest, but my mind wakes up while my body continues to sleep. I can hear everything that is going on around me and can think very clearly, but my body remains heavy. Now I can also dream and realize that I am dreaming. Are there other people who have ths same experiences? Can anyone explain scientifically what is going on? I have been told that I am experiencing 3 fields at the same time.

I look forward to any ideas you may have.

As Isis said, this in part sounds like lucid dreaming. In another way,it reminds me of the time I was napping; woke up; and could not move my body. I knew the building super had knocked on the door. When he got no response, I heard the key and then the door open. I remembered something someone once told me about being in this state..."Wiggle your big toe." I concentrated very hard; wiggled my big toe; and then the rest of my body woke up. I just asked my husband what he thought about this, and he said it happens to him too.
He thinks it's another state of consciousness. We both wish it would happen to us more often. A scientific explanation would probably be based on malfunction of the nervous system. Not too helpful...Unless you get one of those Quantum Physics folks to answer. We need a Quantum Physics person. Quantum Physics person, where are you?

Yes, I do feel like I can't move my body just like you discribed. But at the same time I don't want to move my body because I know the feeling will be gone if I do. I would really like to hear what Quantum Physics has to say about this state of consciousness.

Hi Ann,

Ironically, just this morning I was listening to an IONs lecture by Stephen LaBerge on Lucid Dreaming. Sounds to me that at least in part, that is what is happening with you. It is something to celebrate! Many people, including myself, try very hard to have lucid dreams but they seem to come effortlessly with you. You probably are very susceptible to hypnosis too, are you not? The phenomenon of being awake and asleep and feeling the heaviness of your body etc.. I'm not sure exactly what that might be but the first thing that comes to mind is you may have an ability to astral travel if you can focus your intention to do so. That is, you can perhaps "leave" your physical body to rest while you "journey". You may want to do some research also into the Tibetan Dream Yoga.

peace,
Isis

Hi Isis,
Thank you for your comments and suggestions. I will certainly check out Tibetan Dream Yoga. That sounds interesting. I would love to be able to astral travel while I am sleeping. I find it fascinating to learn about abilities that we have and can develop.

Peace,
Ann
