If a shift happened, would we know?

If there were a great shift, would we know? Maybe, we would be and maybe we are, already different. Much of what we believe we know and are taught is not even true; it is mythology of the time. This can setoff intense cognitive dissonance. So, if some information that challenges our normal view comes up and sets off cognitive dissonance, how could we handle a great shift? Maybe, our minds would need to check out for moment and simply wake up to a new world. Maybe we would come to feel the world was always this way and our memories would adjust to make it so, just as history is constantly rewritten.

I think Bob summed it up pretty well. When it "clicks" we'll know. Alas, I think it's a cycle though, that turns across all time, and that there have been uncountable great shifts, and will be an uncountable number in the future. The good news is, I feel that we are in the upswing (toward the zenith, as opposed to the nadir.) regarding this particular shift. As as they say, "we are the ones we have been waiting for" Not to say there are not still setbacks to come, but the light will indeed shine through. I'm glad you guys are along for the ride.. :)

Hi John,

Great question!

I have come to realize that in light of the fact there seem to be so many idiosyncratic concepts about the characeristics of the "great shift" there are probably equally as many criteria for determining an answer to the question "Are we there yet?"

In my case, I've adapted IONS' mission statement which reads: “Exploring the frontiers of consciousness to advance individual, social, and global transformation . . ." to include ". . . toward an integrally healthful full functioning state of being by at least the critical mass of humanity.”

My definition of an "integrally healthful full functioning state of being" includes individual mind-body, social, educational, vocational, economic, aesthetic and ecosystemic health and full functioning."

So my short answer to your question is that at least I would know, probably others too, when we we're there or are close to realization of the Great Paradigmatic Shift when the critical mass of humanity worldwide are demonstrably experiencing integral health and full functioning.

If interested in my longer answer you may want to read my SIA posts titled "My One Shift? Mutual Integral Health Consciousness Worldwide" at http://www.shiftinaction.com/node/3288 and "Integral Healthful Aging: My Noetic-Based Checklist" at http://www.shiftinaction.com/node/3130

What I was told was that we are already in the realm of Jesus, we just cannot see it on Earth (yet). One day, as our consciousness grows and shifts into more of a spiritual being instead of a human being with conditions, we will see the realm of Jesus here on Earth.

Humanity is growing into the new shift.

First, the Ego-based God (to fear God, to live in superstition).

Then the belief of balance. Everything needs to be balanced, Good vs. Evil (Still a part of the ego mind).

Now we are at a turning point. We know there doesn't need to be a balance. Love and goodness can be the 'tipping point'. The ego mind needs to see evil to know goodness. The spiritual mind only needs to be. You give no power to evil. You know there is only good. You do not deny your brother. You love your brother and you give to his needs whatever it is to bring him to his well-being. Through that, love is created in the human experience and becomes the greater and not the lesser or the equal too. There is no need to feed the ego mind anymore. You are no longer afraid to love the ones you thought you never could.

BY THE WAY, THAT IS THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS. We are moving towards him. We will all see the light clearly one day. It would be sooner if all was on the same thought wave. Those who continue in the ego mind and darkness hold humanity back but it doesn't necessarily hold you back. With your continued path to the light (love), regardless of what you see will bring you to a different world here on Earth. I see more clearly than I ever did before and I love more then I use to.

The teachings I received, which was by going within to hear my truth, brought me to a higher level of understanding. With greater understanding comes greater love of humanity. Religion is truly a inner development of your connection to God and to all.

Here is my quick, brief view. Let's use the flat earth, round earth shift and the earth circles the sun, not the sun circles the earth shift and an example of cognitive dissonance. Let's see the cognitive dissonance that ocurred at the time. If a person had very strong beliefs, perhaps based in religion and being the center of the universe, than these concepts would most likely setoff intense cognitive dissonance. Killing others that beleived the earth circled the sun was preferable to them to changing their view. We might have similar dissonance here. Our minds will do almost anything not to believe it is insane. It is amazing the lengths we go to defend things rather than shift.

If we have accepted shifting or leaping in consciousness, such that our minds do not feel insane about this, than my feeling is we will be aware and can enjoy the experience. If a person's beliefs are held with a death grip not to accept change or evolving, then they may change but not be aware or remember as it would be too overwhelming. So, I feel those us here can most likely enjoy the shift or leap and live to talk and joke about it.

Now, let's discuss the mind or ego mind. I feel the ego mind has been villified. It is treated like a disobedient child. I feel our minds need unconditional love and appreciation for being just as it is. After decades of meditation, I have come to find my mind loves to have things to do. These days I ask my mind to come up with open-ended questions to ask the infinite consciousness. I setup a website so we can all interact that way at www.awakeningourcollectivegenius.com Please visit and contribute. I need your questions to help me see things in new and different ways.
