Looking for basic, thoughtful readings on Global Consciousness

Hello All!

I am in need of help! I am currently a student of a Lifelong Learning program, and as part of my evaluation, I've been asked to give a presentation on a topic of my choice. Since 2005 I have been on my own personal journey of self discovery and spirituality, and would like to incorporate this. I have been asked to provide the class with an introductory article which gives basic background knowledge to the reader on my chosen topic, which is global consciousness. I have, however, been having difficulty finding a solid introductory article on this topic. All of the articles I have found speak of God/Light and Love, Logo's, etc., which I think might be offensive to those who have never broached the topic before. Does anyone out there know of an article/book chapter that conveys the basic principles of global consciousness? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sharing the Journey,
Donna

I suggest going to noosphere.princeton.edu and digging around. This is the quintessential scientific/technical validation that SOMETHING is really going on. The audio archives here on SIA have a teleseminar between Dean Radin and Roger Nelson, a good intro to the topic.
Dean's book, Entangled Minds, is rich in data on this topic, too.

I hope, Donna, you haven't overlooked the writings of Ervin Laszlo, a sample of which is the Share post just above yours -- GLOBALSHIFT! Why, How, and When by Ervin Laszlo.

Another, from the vantage point of an evolutionary biologist, is a book: EarthDance: Living Systems in Evolution by Elisabet Sahtouris. Also, she has a number of short articles on the subject which can accessed by 'Googling' "Writings of Elisabet Sahtouris."

If these don't help, hope you find what you're looking for.

Best wishes,

Bob
