This article from AOL news (link below) describes an explosion in Space which happened before the Earth formed and was only visible to us last Wednesday (7.5 billion light years away). It is inspiring not only because the star is halfway across the Universe with an explosion so huge that it set a record for the most distant object that could be seen on Earth by the naked eye, but following the link will bring you to a slide show of 28 amazing, magnificent, glorious, breathtaking photos from the Hubble space craft. Viewing their beauty and symmetry commands a profound humility, reminding us that we are blessed to be part of an enormous self organizing and implicitly intelligent evolutionary story.

As the rays of the new star reach us today, it is an opportunity to acknowldege Astronaut Captain Edgar Mitchell who shared his vision of planetary peace through noetic sciences. When Edgar experienced profound Unity 35 years ago, on his way back from the moon, he followed his heart to found IONS so that consciousness could be explored toward an evolved world. There are so many in the IONS staff and community who have embraced that vision, the mission, and the good work, gifting their own lights.

IONS staff, thanks also for loaning IONS Pres. James O'Dea to IONS Northwest Community Groups for the great work of the recent Conscious Universe: Personal and Collective Transformation Intensive in Portland, OR. James truly serves this vision of planetary peace.
Many in the retreat experienced that we, as pilots on spaceship Mother Earth, share a common heritage, inextricably entangled with the self organizing principle of the universe. The photos are a great visual tribute to the consciousness we can experience if we tune in.

The gift to humanity of the capability to intend, allow, and move the intelligence that consciousness offers is part of the unfolding story. We are so insignificant in the grand scheme, yet how each of us perceives and acts relatively is vital to the light the universe receives in the future.

I read your post and haven't gotten back until today. These photos demonstrate the awesome power and beauty of the creator. It is wonderful to know we are all part of that.

PB&J,

Jon

Thank you for posting those. I can't wait for my son to get home from school to show him. I love to sit in my driveway at night, usually around 11:30 pm and just watch the sky. Where I live it is very dark at night, unless all the neighbors have their porch lights on, and we get shooting stars fairly often. It's amazing to me to think about "light years" away, it's hard to even wrap my mind around such a concept. I'm fascinated by space and what's out there. Then I come "back to earth" and am fascinated by what's possible right here, in my living room, in my own head. I can't do anything about space so I'll work on what I can do inside myself.

Thanks again,
Joy always,
Nancy
