AN AWAKENED WORLD

Imagine a world where land is known simply as land ~
Not Russia or Africa, Australia or China
America or Antarctica,
Just one glorious graceland of God's geography.

Imagine a world where people are known simply as people -
Not Indians or Persians, Asians or Americans,
Aborigines or Africans,
Just one brilliant bouquet of flowering humanity.

Imagine a world where true religion is known
Simply as kindness,
Not only Islam or Buddhism, Hinduism or Judaism,
Christianity or Taoism,
Just one great circle of love, honoring all of creation.

Imagine this world often ~
One shifting from overpowering some to empowering all.
A planet evolving from "I love to have," to
"I have to love."
A world that knows there are no sides
to a globe that is round.

I'm coming because I love the ocean and think a cruize of this nature is a great idea -- a wonderful place for people interested in consciousness and spirituality to share themselves and their thoughts and ideas. I'm really looking forward to the trip and, hopefully, meeting a lot of you on this site before the trip.

I'd love conversation with those of you going on the cruise. I'm super excited about this event. This can be the beginning of creative travel for the wonderful Ions community. We always have so much to say about the world and who we are. I am on the planning committee and I'd love to know you. I see us traveling all over the world as we explore consciousness!!

Chris mentioned getting a Cabin Form. I'm not sure I have done all that I need to do to register for a cabin. Info, please.

Jenny, if you haven't already done so, for cabin reservation info call Rani Guitar at 818 615 2258 (she's the AAA rep who is coordinating our cruise). Best, Bob

Thanx, Bob, I just realized that I did that earlier. Appreciate the help; I get lost so easily.

Hi Jo An, feel just as you do about our upcoming cruise in November. Hope to meet a ton of travelers on this site. Planning Committee? What does this committee do? Thanx. Jenny Houston aka Dilly

I've ordered cabin reservation form already.

Do I turn right or left at LAX?

Chris

Submitted by Bob Johnston on June 15, 2008 - 11:42am.

Hi Chris, since our cruise embarkation point is San Diego it would save you a lot of driving, much of it in very, very heavy traffic (I hesitate to say how much time because it can be so unpredictable), to come into San Diego International Airport rather than LAX. But if you have no alternative or simply prefer LAX you will want to drive following the signs from LAX to the San Diego Interstate 405 South off-ramp, that will take you directly to San Diego. I recommend coming in a day early just to help ensure you make it to embarkation in time.

Hope to see you there. Best,

Bob

Hi Bob, glad to see you will be on the cruize (I know it's spelled cruise, but I just luv Zs). I saw your comments somewhere in the chat area about climate change and was going to ask if you had heard about a glacier on Mt. Everest (Rambun or something like that) melting on the China side. Oh dear!

Hi Jenny ~

No, I haven't heard about a glacier on Mt. Everest . . . do you have a reference I can check out?

While my intent in sharing this is not to play a game of one-up-personship with you I have a signature sign-off similar to yours: "Our Anima-Animus Source is infinite timeless Mind-Spirit within which we 'swim' every moment."

Hi Bob, thanx for your response. Guess we both like the water. :):):) As to the glacier": Article in our local newspaper, Marin Independent Journal yesterday, but don't have the paper. Try going to IJ website, think it's www.MarinIJ.org, but not sure. They usually have stories there. Seems China is planning/working on cleaning up their side of Mt. Everest. Say, too much stuff left behind by climbers too pooped to carry all their stuff back down (Maybe George Carlin would be in position to help with this now. Did you ever hear his spiel on "Stuff"? Really funny. Also, story must be someplace else on the Net. Let me know if you can't find it.

Don't worry about 'oneuppersonship'. I'm not touchy unless given BIG reason. Your sign off is more complex than mine. Have to give it some thought; a little enlightenment would be welcome, too. My whole idea is -- "God is an Essence in which we all swim everyday. One of the primary functions of God (Essence) is connection." ur, so thinks Jenny :):):)

I didn't know there were glacierologists. What do you do? I took a cruize to Alaska awhile back and one most fun things to do was sit for hours watchig huge glaciers calf Fascinating and, after you pay for the cruize and the airfare -- cheap entertainment.

Incidentally, I am new at this commenting business on IONS, so please let me know if there is some king of protocol. Don't want to upset fellow cruizers before we even get aboard the ship. :):):):)

Mill and I spent a couple of days in New York City visiting some of her college friends so I wasn't able to get back to you earlier.

Rest assured there is no "king or queen of protocol" . . . just do your own thing.

You asked what I do . . . both retirees, my wife and I travel to various parts of the globe and visit with our grandkids. I facilitate a community group and write blogs and shares now and then for SIA. And I am also writing a book on sychronicity . . . all of which serve to keep me off the streets most all the time :-)

Have fun!

Bob

Sounds like you have a near perfect life, Bob. I have always thought that the best way to go would be to have twelve children, then if you survive raising 12 children, you send/persuade them to take up their adult lives in all kinds of places around the world -- London, France, the Carribbean (sp), etc. Then you spend your retirement years going around the world visiting all your children. Sounds like you are close, although maybe not 12 kids. Questionable how many people could survive that. Please tell me about your blogs and the book you are writing.

Submitted by Bob Johnston on July 5, 2008 - 8:50am.

No, Jenny, we don't have 12 children . . . actually just five between us. Mill has two by a previous marriage, and I have three. (Although one of my grandfathers was the eldest of twelve . . does that count?)

". . . near perfect life . . ."? While my personal life since the advent of Marvelous Mill has become "near perfect" in some crucial ways, earlier aspects haven't been. But then, as you may know, it all depends on how one interprets adversity. You may want to take a look at my most recent blog "For All Things Give Thanks?" http://www.shiftinaction.com/node/7227 for my philosophy on that.

You asked about my book on synchronicity which is in progress. I trace the seeming correlation between my soul's emancipation from temporal attachments and the incidence of conscious synchronicity experiences such as the two case examples I describe in my recent blog "Dragor Hotel Experience: Spooky Action Up Close?" http://www.shiftinaction.com/node/6688.

You requested info about my blogs, they are too numerous to list here, but you can see them by going to the SIA Declare Page, on far left hand column look for words "Community Blogs", read down to "Active Partner Profiles" and click, that will take you to a list of names, click on "Bob Johnston" which will bring up four tabs listed along the right top: "Personal, Professional, Blog, Share", click on Blog and my list will appear. Okay?

Warm wishes,

Bob

Hi all,

We're absolutely delighted that the Community Group Network has taken on this project and gotten it off the ground to great early success. Since the focus of the cruise is on connection, we encourage you to use this Share Forum to dialogue around the Cruise and what you'd most like to happen on it!
Best, Stephen

Hi Stephen, glad to see you will be coming, too. I was on the call with you and Brian, whose last name escapes me just now. He was condensing philosophical books. It was a great conversation, and you both threw out several ideas that seemed to really apply to me, but I didn't write them down and forgot each and every trigger word. Hope I can revise them when I see you on the cruise.

God is an Essence in which we all swim everyday.

. . . and the crick don't rise Mill and I will be cruisin' with you, Stephen. It will be wonderful to reconnect in this way with our many IONS friends we haven't seen for a while. Warm regards, Bob
