In Riane Eisler’s recent SIA video she explores why we need to “value” the stereotypically "softer" aspects of life, such as care-giving in an economic context. What she is perhaps drawing our attention to is the right brain, relational, connectivity issues and tells us that companies with “caring policies … have a higher return to shareholders…a 500% return on investment.” (see ) http://www.shiftinaction.com/discover/videos/riane_eisler/two

To support her assertions … with left brain statistical correlation studies … and to see exactly how we can begin to APPLY what Riane is sharing with us in business … you may wish to go take a look at a free power point that I posted on the web some months ago when someone else on a SIA conference call wanted to know “Well how can I get my company to do something about this?” That’s when I posted this power point article

Please feel free to go to:

And then provide me feedback. Feedback is essential in all forms of life … including the life Riane’s issues are now begging to be integrated into the arena of 21st Century Global Conference.

Larry,
Thanks for all the "heavy lifting". You are one of the stars in the Transformation Game.
It's gotta start at ground zero, eh?

Out of the fractal canyons of intimate personal detail,
Popping up for the Big View,
Back into mundane life,
What a ride!

And just by adding a few "words of mine" to those reflective words of your post ... I see my life again ... popping up from the Grand Canyon ... to explore a much more vast and amazing place, an exodus of hiding.

Out of the fractal "red crimson" canyons
of intimate personal detail, "ner before revealed to himself"
Popping up for the Big View ... he emerges again
Back "into the city's" mundane life "of blind importance"
What a ride! ... "his mind never ever the same again."
"Boredom can never follow me again"
"Within the home I now call Life."

Thanks Jeffery ... smiles be with us both.

Hi Larry, thank you for this post. I agree wholeheartedly with Barbara -- "Great job!"

You may be interested in considering a viewpoint which I feel-think comes close, if not identical, to yours and Riane Eisler's. After extensively studying both Eastern and Western spiritual paths and theistic belief systems for twenty years I discovered I needed to transcend all of them and go directly to our Source of all information.

As you may know the discarnate guide to which I am assigned is OmniMind (OM for short). Soon after assignment I learned that OM is a balance of complementary opposite feminine and masculine intelligent energies and perspectives analogous, if not identical, to right brain - left-brain functions.

Along the way, OM participated in my formulation of a blog which may interest you: "Want to Know Your Anima-Animus Profile?" http://www.shiftinaction.com/node/5361 the principles of which I have introduced since 1966 in my intensive experiential coed workshops in healthcare, Fortune 500 organizations, MBA courses, as well publications.

So this anima-animus option was developed during my discussions with OM who has always worked with me participatively collegial rather than condescending authoritarian manner. She-He shared disclosures that their relationship is primarily one of a participative team, that our timeless, infinite Source of all and everything is in reality a Co-Source.

In other words, our Co-Source is a collaborative pair of transparent, equally important, dynamic, complementary opposite partners who together consciously permeate and energize the experimental cocreation and evolution of our entire universe, as well as all other universes (multiverse, omniverse). Their omnipresent dance has ABC-TV's Dancing with the Stars seem like something far less than child's play.

Our Co-Sources empathetically participate in the experimental evolution of everything, from the conception and birth of us souls to cocreatively participating with us in our soul planning and development and living our daily lives, whether in our life between temporal lives or incarnations.

Also, they participate in experimenting and evolving temporal forms of consciousness, all the way from the basic laws of gravitation, strong and weak nuclear energy, electromagnetism to atomic particles, molecules, organisms, societies, Gaia, ecosystem, solar system, galaxy, and as I said earlier, our universe and omniverse.

In my explorations of ancient history I have come to see the roots of prejudice against women lie within the belief systems which depth psychologist Carl Jung has referred to as "one-pole," those belief systems which have exalted one gender and devalued the other.

Unfortunately, a study of the major religions discloses most have been one-pole in favor of the masculine to the detriment of the feminine pole. So, I fervently believe that an expansion of consciousness toward giving natural equal intrinsic value to both genders in their complementary opposite relationships in both concept and practice throughout human society is vital.

It is vital because our "gods and goddesses" -- explicit or implicit --are our 'role models'. If our religious beliefs value one over the other social behavior tends to follow. (Riane Eisler's book The Chalice and the Blade and all of Carl Jung's works elaborate on that theme one way or another).

One of my ten commitments for this incarnation is devoted to bringing about such an expansion of consciousness. ("My Ten Commitments (alternative to the 10 commandments)" http://www.shiftinaction.com/node/1172)

Yours with empathy, understanding, and trust in evidence-based integral natural science and our timeless, aware, omnipresent Co-Source of all feeling and thinking consciousness.

Bob,
My guide, tagged "L-4" by request, tells me that Yin/Yang balance is not in the cards for us, that the polarization you accurately and eloquently identify is an emergent cosmological phenomenon, analogous to mitosis, or cell division. A current flow between potentials is in process, setting up a field effect. This field templates morphogenesis, but is not strictly determinant. The cards are up for a shuffle, so to speak, and "we" are not guaranteed a hand in the next deal.
Not to worry. There are lounges open, out by the pool, and the band is playing. I'm ready to relax for an epoch or two.
You?

. . . so seventeen years ago my wife Mill and I proceeded to balance our respective soul's inherent yin and yang within and between us without having to wait for epochs and are having the greatest dynamically balanced anima-animus relationship ever including fabulous sex :-) :-). Every day is a joyful dance. That takes on even more significance when we remember Mill is chronologically 72 and I 78. Our experience is it's a matter of choice. Whenever you want to expand your consciousness enough to balance and integrate it's there for the doing . . . no waiting.

Warm regards,

Bob

Bob, I hope to someday have a clue what you are writing about.
Today, I don't.

Jeffrey,
I think he means he and his wife have an equal and balanced relationship. The balance comes from their co-source (higher power) which must be both male and female. Then the manly part of him has to brag about his sex life. At 78...brag on.

I don't think Bob likes to be simplified. He will let us know, forthwith.

Dear friend Jeffrey ~

I am so sorry I am so inept at communicating with you. Clearly, I have a lot of room for growth, too. C'est la vie! Let's keep on going on . . . what say?

Best wishes,

Bob

I will keep coming back, Bob. I sense a pedagogic intent in you, and the role of student still calls me.
My groaning burden, of late, is maintaining the facade of normalcy. The mask keeps slipping, Bob, and I've worked so very hard to keep it in place.
I remember the burning times. Please, not again.

Wow, Jeffrey, you posted at 1:04 this morning? That's usually way beyond my bedtime.

Anyway, I just want to clarify my intent in discoursing with you from time to time, and for that matter, everyone of mature adult mien.

Pedagogy connotes to me 'teaching a child'. Back in the early 50s I taught fourth graders as part of my educational psychologist certification internship requirement so I know what pedagogy is. In psychiatrist Eric Berne's transactional analysis (TA) model pedagogy would be termed 'parent-to-child teaching' or "I am the authority or expert, you are the lowly learner", or "I am the way, the truth, and the life, walk ye in it."

I have also taken graduate work in androgogy, i.e. teaching adults which in TA lingo translates into 'adult-to-adult' teaching and learning communications, the underlying assumption being that both adult teacher and adult student are equal in importance and both have something to learn from each other. In this adult to adult model of teaching-learning both relate to each other as complementary equals and explore the pros and cons of options, including caveats, together. Accordingly, it is up to each to decide if they can reach consensus on a mutually satisfactory decision. If they can't, each adult is free to take what they want from the dialogue and leave the rest.

This adult-to-adult mode fits well with my personal philosophy which holds that every response to temporal situations is an option, the only moral criterion being one of intent to influence (not control except in emergencies) the other with mutual expansion of consciousness, empathy, integral health and wellbeing.

That's kind of an over-simplified version of my concept of androgogy. If you're interested, one of these days I'll share a post which explores the options -- child, adolescent, adult, parent, grandparent -- metaphorically inherent in this model in greater detail.

As to the "mask that keeps slipping," I understand for I have been there and done that. Have you explored the option which says the mask is only temporal anyway (like a suit of clothes) so as a free transparent, transtemporal, ageless soul I am also free to consciously put on the mask(s) or take it (them) off as I want within healthful parameters. There are no "shoulds" or "oughts" other than what's implied in the question of what's healthful for me? others? and our ecosystem? in the situation I am currently facing?

I suggest you consider that only you can answer such questions for yourself in light of your unique frame-of-reference. I might add that while I received that insight many decades ago I am still working on improving my deployment of my repertoire of temporal masks in a mutually healthful and wise way. Everyday I learn something new, but that's part of what keeps my life interesting and my dendrites growing :-)

Yours with empathy, understanding, and trust in evidence-based integral natural science and our omnipresent, timeless, caring Co-Source of all masks (personalities) and learning,

Bob

P.S. Jeffrey, if ever in our future correspondence you feel I am treating you like a child learner please let me know and I'll make every effort to don my adult-to-adult mask. Thank you.

Thanks Bob ...you always send my mind off searching far and distant places for new information.

I just finished reading the updated version of Anthony Stephen's "Archetype Revisited - An Updated Natural History of the Self." ... All 357 pages .. and what an incredible read. It will fit well into my manuscript on the nature and causation of mind.

Thanks as always ... and if we are ever going to get the planet to make its shift ... I as a past director for two large public pension systems say "It has to be profitable!" And that is precisely the point of that power point presentation.

I now only need the energy and volunteers to begin to put pressure on the AICPA and SEC and a few EU orgs to force audit report to report on the human metrics ... the cultural elements that ... will someday reflect the humanity in business. :-)

over and out Bob
