Well, Ike is turning out to be intense....we have a family of four (mom, dad and two little girls==aged 10 & 12) from Seabrook, Texas, staying with us as evacuees, as we all wait with baited breath to see the devastation that the city of Houston/Galveston/Southern LA will be experience.

Please hold them and all in the light.

Michelle

Rosalie and I are praying very hard for all those who are affected by the forces of nature, against which they are helpless.
I've been having a visceral reaction, though, every time I hear someone say; 'Those who refused to be evacuated deserve what they get; they should be billed for the rescue services they receive!'
While I was very sad when I heard that so many did not leave the affected areas, I am not their judge, to be able to say what they needed to do.
The news from the preceding hurricane undoubtedly gave many a sense of false security, as it seemed that many folks evacuated needlessly. Some folks never got the word. Some folks were incapable of making an informed decision to keep themselves and their families safe (whether through ignorance or mental incapacity). I'm sure that car trouble, or lack of funds to fill a gas tank, kept many from leaving. Who gets to say that this one or that one is 'to blame'?
So, our prayers go to all. Let God do the judgements.

Peace and Love
Glenn

But she won't be blogging for a little while. I decided to call her to see how she was faring: 'There was not much surge so far west, just some waves over the seawall.' Now she will be looking after her friends till they can go back to Seabrook.
