Soil Association urges ban on pesticides to halt bee deaths

Germany, France, Slovenia and Italy have shifted in action to protect bees from neonicotinides. The rest of Europe has done shifts in speaking to ignore the problem. Perhaps we shall have to move or learn to pollinate the crops by hand while breathing in the dreaded pesticides, ourselves !

Of course the real solution is deeper than just a ban on one class of pesticide.

We have bees between the floors of our house. A beekeeper was called to see if he could/would lure them out. He feels it is hopeless. Meanwhile, they live on. He said to exterminate them. Why don't they go to a tree? Sooner or later, honey and beeswax will be dripping into my livingroom. It seems the only way to save them is to tear up parts of our house. That doesn't seem like a solution. Actually, I am pretty pissed off at these bees at this point. It is my house, not theirs. Live in a tree, or a commercial hive.

I do understand bees are dying off and that is problematic. I don't understand why they are choosing my house, the walls of my mother's house, the garage of a co-workers house. Go away BEES! You've given me an idea. I'll buy some sunflowers and spray them with that poison.

Hi George,
The Dept. of Forestry relases ladybugs to fight some type of other bug that kills various trees. The ladybugs come in the house each year. There is no way to get rid of them, and I am very allergic to
them. These bugs used to be my favorite.

Well now we have the bees and the ladybugs at war. The ladybugs are driving the bees crazy. It's interesting, and I wonder who is going to win. Some bees have been driven inside the house by swarming ladybugs. Of course, they die soon after because they have a hive mind and can't go on without the group.

A funny note: I was taking a nap on the couch one afternoon. When I woke up, hundreds of ladybugs were crawing on the ceiling. I thought it was a blessing...This was the first infestation.

One might wonder why this lady has so many bugs bugging her. I live in a town surrounded by wilderness.

You'll be happy to know that I have not poisoned a sunflower.
Regards,
Barbara
