I have had two near death experiences, and started to have a knee jerk reaction to the fact that this scientific experiment wouldn't capture either one. Then I realized that is ok. The design is just meant to capture the ability of those who float above the scene.

The fact that my experiences were different doesn't matter. When my tonsils were removed, I flew into a spiral...not above anything. In another during a seizure, I felt every horrible emotion a person can feel...then peace and a knowledge that I didn't have to come back...then nonexistance...then life. In order to capture each type of experience, there would have to be a different experiment.

The fact that one's own experience has nothing to do with the experiment at hand is no reason to get upset. It is the exploration of only one type of NDE. There are different types of heart attacks. One experiemental design wouldn't fit all. Each experimental design might teach us something new.

Thank you for your post. After I read it I found my belief systems getting riled up and then I allowed them ... to post the following on their blog:

I can not believe the stupidity of those that "claim" to be scientists. The very word science comes from Latin and it means "To Know. " It DOES NOT MEAN TO MEASURE AND REPLICATE.

I was a nuclear trained engineer on subs. I was a CPA and held a SEC Series 7 & 63. Summary, I am a strong left brain type, i.e a rational thinker. I am not "Stupid", myopic or neurologically deprived.

To "EXPERIENCE" is to know ... not to measure. So for those of you out there that have had an NDE's or OBE's let the so called "scientists" ... the idiots ... the emotionally bound reductionists play within their limited clock-work time-space confines while the rest of us are pre-scouting our next domain... the Divine Domain of the Unlimited Mind. :-)

PS
I gave up in the 60's on trying to change the minds of farmyard cows, chickens and my high school physics teacher. Our job is not to enlighten "The Educated" but to ... personally Experience the Exploration of the Universe's MetaMind. ljohncarson@msn.com "

I got to get off the defense bandwagon and spending so much energy on those not worth it. :-)

Someone help me please ... Stupidity posing as scientific explorers really irritates the kilt right off my body.

The only way that scientists' pay can ever catch up with Wall Street, is for said scientists to become advisors to and fellows of Wall Street. That is why they form alliances that use truth as tools to promote the right patents; to deny problems of any sort with products; to produce pharmaceuticals that cure the degeneration brought on by the safe products.

If NDE's or OBE's are awkward for any reason; just get in the professional scientific debaters and testers. It is distorted, YES! But not stupid, short term, to make those great bonuses.

This smells like a scientific experiment that is set up to fail: by excluding other possibilities than the critical one, before the phenomenon has been explored thoroughly. If they do explore the raw data uncritically, too, I'll be happy that a start is being made.
