It's time to focus on solutions
"There's nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come"
I originally came across the idea of focusing on solutions from Solutions Focus Brief Therapy (SFBT) which focuses on finding solutions that already exist in the clients life and applying them to move towards what they want. For example, with an alcoholic there are some days when they drink less than others, so what happens on those days is part of the solutions.
From SFBT, grew a corporate change approach called Solutions Focus Change Management which again focuses on identify what is working and doing more of it.
Today I listened to Eleanor LeCain's teleseminar on Breakthrough Solutions which uses the internet and TV to communicate solutions that already exist in communities and publicize them to people all around the world.
This is great because it lets everyday citizens take back the responsibility for finding solutions rather than just sitting back and waiting for the government to fix things. If people start presenting solutions to the government that makes sense, that have been proven to work, then government's will have less excuse for mind numbing debates on ideologies and get stuck into implementing these solutions.
Keep up the great work!
