Love and supoport for rain and compassion in Australia
In south eastern australia we are experiencing some horrific bushfires and I am requesting loving thoughts for all who are affected - both wild life and people.
Briefly, over 180 are confirmed dead as of 11th Feb 09, and over 950 houses have been completely destroyed. The fire has devasted more than 100,000 hectares / 250,000 acres, and it is still burning. Many, many thousands of farm animals and wildlife have died. During the last four days, we were witness to a fire storm of massive proportions as the results of several years of drought, temperatures of over 46 degrees Celsius (115 degrees Fahrenheit), and hot winds of over 60-80 kmh / 35-50 mph combined to produce a massive fire storm.
This phenomenon was travelling so fast that many people died in their cars as they tried to escape its fury, while many others died in their homes which literally exploded as the fire balls generated by the storm hit them like bombs. It was terrifyingly powerful and has left blackened landscapes in its wake that looked like the results of a nuclear explosion.
As you can imagine, we and everyone in Australia are deeply shocked. Please meditate or pray or simply think supporting thoughts for everyone here, particularly those directly effected by this holocaust.
