Since 1997 our New Options Community Group in Amherst, Massachusetts has been exploring pros and cons of a wide variety of research findings, concepts, practices, and ideas . . . all for more integrally conscious, healthful, wise, mutually empathetic living, aging, dying, and thereafter . . . as they newly emerge from scientific, humanistic, and psychospiritual communities worldwide. No topic is out of bounds. All our members participate in planning our calendars. Thus everyone has a piece-of-the-action, consequently ownership for our meetings.

Glaciologist and Scientific American author Robin E. Bell reports, "A giant floating ice shelf off the Antarctic Peninsula marks the end of a great flow of ice. The flow begins with snowfall in the continental interior, which compacts into ice and slowly makes its way to the edge of the continent and into the ocean. As climate change accelerates the breakup of ice shelves, it can speed the movement of the "upstream" ice across the land and into the sea.
