Luminary: Azim Khamisa
Azim's book,
From Murder to
Forgiveness
Azim describes the core of his work with the Tariq Khamisa Foundation: through teaching and role-modeling, to make non-violence a more-learned behavior in our culture than violence. He then discusses restorative justice, and moves into experiential exercises on working with grief.
When Azim's only son was murdered, he found that his practice of meditation had given him the compassion and grace to practice forgiveness. Azim offers this meditation as a way to cultivate forgiveness, as it is through forgiveness that we can create a culture of peace.
Azim Khamisa, whose 20-year old son, Tariq, was murdered in 1995, has committed his life to defeating the continuing cycle of violence amongst the youth. Join Azim in dialogue with Quest For Global Healing channel hosts Judith Thompson and James O'Dea in a discussion on restorative justice.
